Main Reservoir — Attraction in Lakewood

This is a great place to get some exercise. It's about a mile around the lake. It has a great walking path that connects with other walking paths in the neighborhood. It's always nice and quiet. The birds are really cool. There are a couple of different kinds of ducks, geese and herons. The view from the east side of downtown is really cool as well. And then of course there's always its proximity...

Nice little nature walk. Numerous bird species including great-blue heron, double-crested cormorant, mallard, gadwall, northern flicker, downy woodpecker, white-breasted nuthatch, red-winged blackbird, seagulls, and red-tailed hawk. Garter snakes and sunbathing turtles too! Great timekiller when waiting on laundry...

There are dense forested areas here where teens and kids hang out and play. It's been that way ever since I was a kid in this area. The fishing isn't bad.
