Sunset Recycling Center — Attraction in Lakewood

This used to be my favorite place to go but the guy working there got very very angry with me and embarrassed me in front of a line full of customers when I said this recycling center honors nearby other recycling centers coupons HE BECAME ENRAGED AND SAID WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO MY BOSS HAS TO MAKE MONEY AND YOU ARE TAKING THIS AWAY FROM HIM HE WILL NOT ACCEPT COUPONS UNLESS THEY ARE ONLY PRINTED OUT NOT JUST SHOWN ON YOUR DEVICE. YOU ARE RUINING MY BOSSES BUSINESS BY LETTING PEOPLE KNOW THAT . I said first of all, I have been showing my coupons from device for years. I have never been required to get some place to print me out a copy of the same coupon I am showing as current with the current date I was told long ago your boss accepted these and no I am not trying to rip off or get anyone else to rip off or rob your boss. This is a standard practice of all recycling centers and to be honest with you I have never had such pitiful amounts for all the recycling that I bring in. Sure inflation sure prices have increased but when did the reward for saving such large amounts of not only aluminum cans but glass and plastic decrease when clearly i my have turned in three baskets of just cans smashed two half full trash cans of glass and two net containers full of plastics and only received $12????? So you think the coupon for ten cents more will cause certain ruin for your boss? Everyone was looking at me and I told the guy working the weighing I had even called and spoken to your boss when it first opened how much I appreciated his center because, as other customers spoke up stated this place...

I began going here in Fall of 2021, and there used to be a very nice employee (male, with a man-bun) who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and gave me a good price for my recyclables. A few months ago, however, there’s been a different employee who I think has no experience working with the public. He is constantly on his cell-phone and has a radio blasting and continues to talk on his phone while he weighs my recyclable items and has me sign on the little clipboard. He remains on his phone for the entire transaction and doesn’t acknowledge the customer’s presence to me and other folks who come here. Moreover, he placed a tip jar; the former employee did not collect tips. At first I tipped him, thinking it might improve customer service. No such luck! I last went 2 weeks ago and did NOT tip him due to poor customer service. I will NOT be back to this particular...

This recycling center totally jipped me! This was my first time coming here. I had 8 huge full bags (39 gallon bags) of plastic bottles and 1 medium size bag of aluminum cans came out of a total of $38 and change. Something wasn't adding up. I feel like the guy who weighed the bottles and cans was cheating. I honestly felt like I should of got close to $50. Also, this place is disgustingly filthy and beyond sticky ground. They need to heavy duty clean this place. Dishonest and deceitful. Never coming...
