Pardon me, do you have any buffalo chips? giggle
Formerly a Wingstop, The Buffalo Spot is basically the same with a new moniker. Known for their "world famous" buffalo fries, my interest & appetite were piqued on a Sunday afternoon.
Various sauces to satisfy most customers, special seasoning blends are also available for an extra charge. After a quick glance at the menu, I went with a small order of buffalo fries with Jamaican jerk sauce.
Jamaican jerk buffalo fries (small)- A subtle heat that creeps up on you, the Jamaican jerk sauce had a nice sweet flavor. The fries were perfectly cooked. A crunchy exterior, housing a fluffy interior, the buffalo seasoning kicked things up a notch w/o being overly salty. I was a little reticent at first ordering a small, but the portion proved to be a wise choice, as any more and I would've grown bored with the monotony of eating the same thing. One recommendation I can give the Buffalo Spot, is to add some greens to their fries - green onions, chives, etc. I believe that is the missing component to their dish and would complete their offering.
A Pepsi freestyle-like machine serves up the refreshments. I haven't seen Pepsi's version before, and found the screen vibrant & dazzling. It's also more user-friendly, as sparkling water can be dispensed from the main menu.
The Buffalo Spot has various deals, like Boneless Wing Tuesday, and other specials.
Service was okay. I spied one worker on the register, taking calls & giving out orders, with one in the kitchen. I waiting abnormally longer than I believe I should have, considering almost everything on the menu is fried. I was in no particular hurry, so I didn't mind that much, just noting it for my review. Others seemed a little bothered by the wait, though. As I ate, more & more people were anxiously expecting their orders. More staff is a must to keep up with the demand.
A fair amount of seating via tables, the Buffalo Spot is not a place for large groups. XXL & Billboard covers adorn the walls, with a The Buffalo Spot graffiti work prominently displayed. Parking is in a private lot shared by Starbucks, a smoke shop & other businesses.
While Wingstop moved a few blocks away, I found the Buffalo Spot to be a comparable alternative. The buffalo fries hit the spot for the French fry deficit I've been experiencing. More employees on staff would definitely improve the logistics of the restaurant & I hope the Buffalo Spot reads this and takes thought on the subject. But, as for the food, I enjoyed my meal.
