Value World (Lakewood) never disappoints! The parking is plentiful & convenient. The staff are always helpful and friendly. I’ve never seen a line at the registers longer than 2 customers; an additional cashier is always calked up front the moment it looks like a line may form. The store is always carefully sorted and merchandised beautifully, with prices and sizes clearly tagged. If you have any questions or need any assistance, there is always an employee nearby ready to assist. Most importantly, the quality of the merchandise is top notch and the prices are amazing! I am so glad I wandered into the store over 2-!years ago (more out of curiosity than anything else. I was amazed at the selection, quality and values. I have been a regular customer ever since. I have found amazing values on clothing, home decor, furniture, shoes, books, rugs and so much more! I try not to let more than a week or two pass without checking-in to see what new treasures they will have for me, and they don’t disappoint! I have never left Value World without finding something that I couldn’t resist. My motto is, “You have to spend money to save money, “ and at Value World I have saved so much money that I can’t even begin to image how much! Several times, when the cashier tells me my total due, I can’t help but feel a little guilty that I can get such great items for a price so low. If you haven’t checked them out yet, don’t wait any longer. You will ask yourself after each visit how you ever got along without them! With the way our current inflation has affected all of our abilities to maintain a budget, anyone who isn’t thrifting is definitely struggling harder than they need to right now. Check it out. It...
Read moreValue World is my not-so-secret weapon for looking stylish on a budget. I used to go all the time, and honestly, it spoiled me for life. People ask where I get my clothes, and I love saying, “Oh, this? Two dollars. Maybe three. Sometimes free…from Value World!.”
It’s not just a thrift store—it’s a style playground, perfect for swapping out clothes without draining your wallet. I can donate pieces I’m tired of, then turn around and find clothes in fresh colors, patterns, and styles. They even carry items from big-name stores for a fraction of the original price. You never know what you’ll find: shoes, dishes, quirky home décor… I once found the exact kind of mixing bowl my grandma used to have, sitting next to a pair of heels I wore to a wedding.
Value World isn’t just about fun finds—it’s a community lifeline, too. It’s a place where people can get quality clothing without spending a fortune, making clothing accessible for everyone. And don’t get me started on the sales—because when they hit, they hit.
Case in point: I’m currently sitting here writing this in a $4 dress from Value World, feeling like a million bucks. Last year, I scored two formal gowns from major brands for $10 total (thank you, buy-one-get-one and the ridiculously good rewards system). Those dresses have been to balls, weddings, and formal events—and I didn’t have to sell a kidney to afford them.
Value World truly got me through college and beyond. Now, whenever I see pants in another store for $20, I physically recoil. Once you’ve lived the Value World life, paying full price feels like a crime. This place is a hidden gem that more people need to wake up to—just not too many people, because I still...
Read moreI almost never post anything but Yesterday I had the worse experience at what use to be one of my favorite stores. My wallet was stolen right out of my purse & another shopper said it’s happens often at this store. I look away for a min at most and never took my hands of the cart I saw a guy move fast away towards back of store but didn’t think nothing of it till I walk to cashier to check out and found that my wallet was missing a total time less then 5 min. The person was still in the store the manager who was near by asking what happen I told her even mention that he is still in store all she said was ( sorry that happen you should cancel card ) they have cameras she could offer to look at them or to call the police but didn’t. I write this post with a sadness cause I’ve shopped at this thrift store since they open there first store but I no longer feel safe to shop there. I want to also let others know to be aware because after calming down and looking back I believe I though I can’t be sure it was one of the employee at the store . It was the Ohio store on the east side location on Northfield Rd. It’s clear from the other shopper that told me its happen there a few times before & why she no longer bring her purse in. So all Beware do look away for a second. Cause you will lose more than what was in the wallet your time and more money to replace ID,cards & more, but the violation of security where you longer feel safe is what is most disheartening to me. Also the lack of concern by the manager upset me. As if there client tell don’t matter. Just a...
