Sweet Custom Jewelry — Attraction in Lansing

I want to start off this review with the positives of my fiance and I's experience at Sweet's. We started looking for my engagement ring back in January and were recommended to Sweet's by a family friend. Everyone we have interacted with has been very friendly and helpful in terms of comparing different rings, stone sizes, and just generally helping me pick out what I wanted. They were also eager to help me customize my ring a bit which was wonderful. However, the negative part of our experience was the sizing. We visited Sweet's 2 different times trying on different rings before I made a decision on what I wanted. I knew I was around a size 9 because that is what I have at home in all of my rings. When actually being sized there, I measured most comfortably at an 8 1/2 the first time we visited. We came back about a month later after writing down my size for their personal records and it was assumed then that I had measured at a size 8. I am not a size 8. That is the day we purchased my engagement ring and had corrected the size back to what it should have been: size 8 1/2. Thinking everything was settled we wait about a month for the ring to be customized and when my fiance brought the ring home yesterday, the receipt and paperwork all say that the ring is sized for a size 8 - which I am not. Everything else about the ring is beautiful, however I am really disappointed in the lack of attention to a detail such as that. It just feels as though this could have been avoided as I physically tried on the correct 8 1/2 size before we even ordered it. Now we have to bring it back for a resize before I've even had a chance to wear it. I am mostly writing this review as a caution to others thinking about buying a ring from Sweet's as you will need to be very thorough with making sure the correct size is made. My husband and I have several pieces from this store, including my absolutely stunning engagement ring which is currently pictured in the Google thumbnail :) I personally know Bob and Alissa as hometown kids - but with extraordinary talents that have led them to developing an exceptional business. I was absolutely lost and all over the place with my ideas and concepts for my engagement ring, but Alissa's enthusiasm and knowledge helped steer me in the right direction and eventually produced my one of a kind piece. I get compliments DAILY. Bob is a true craftsman with equal creativity and dedication. If you can dream it, they can make it. They also have many pieces in their store from other local vendors and can give referrals to other vendors for specialized pieces, as well. Their prices are very fair and the service is always warm and welcoming.

I’m so grateful for everything they have done for us; I plan to continue having them make my next wedding band, and honestly any fine jewelry from now on. I’m so proud to watch these people and this business be so successful! They are good, REAL people and have bettered our business community by being a part of it. 100% recommend Sweet Custom Jewelry. I went there looking for a out of the normal engagement ring. Fell in love with a tanzanite ring. After talking to Bob (the owner) about how it would be an everyday wear he informed me at how fragile the stone was. This was not a problem at all. With the help of the fabricator, Dustin and Bob's wife and partner Alissa. We decided to go with a purple sapphire. They did to have one in stock but was not an issue Alissa pulled up on the computer a large selection of sapphires in many shapes and purple shades.

We where able to find the perfect stone. They had it shipped in with in days the ring was made. This was important and I waited till the last min to get it made and had a special trip planned that I needed it for. Sweets had the ring done before deadline and it was better then on the computer screen. I can not speak anything but the highest of words for the team at Sweet Custom Jewelry. Great vibes!!
