Iāve been coming to this place for over 25 years since my early 20s I am having the worst month of my life. I lost my apartment so I am with my 76 year-old mother with dementia ,my autistic 28 year-old son and when I was showering, my son went down in the lobby, but let me just add since then theyāre security on swing shift has been hassling me the last five times Iāve been here and I donāt really know why I assume cause Iām not playing towards the end when Iām leaving I bus there so I charge my phone before I have to get on to the bus cause Iām a female and I donāt wanna bus it late at night. Theyāll literally come over to me within the first 10 min of me charging my phone like maāam I havenāt seen you play in 30 to 45 minutes itās like really I know theyāve seen me there since they started their shift probably around 3 PM. This has happened to me the last 5 times and I explained to to them basically what I explained to you guys up there about the time it being late , I wanna make sure my phone is charged because where I was previously saying wasnāt the best either he then proceed to tell me Iāll give you another 5 to 10 minutes. Everybody knows charging from a slot. Machine is very slow, but yeah thatās their care for females in the middle of the night who ride the bus . Iāve had a hell of a year. 2days ago Tuesday night they come to me while I was gambling, actually not even charging my phone asking me for my ID if Iāve ever been 86 from the property mind u Iāve been here since Saturday. He told me that the security camera caught a glimpse of my face and I look like someone thatās been 86 from here so I never been so with that being said they went away the following night my artistic son gets downstairs and somehow you know I donāt know his body movements are not that of a normal person. He moves a little erratically so when he comes back, they wonāt let him up in the room. I go down to go get him next day Iām trying to rebook my room and I am told that security said that I am not allowed to rebook mind you. I have a lot of stuff in this room again my 76 year-old mother with dementia and my autistic son. I have no vehicle and yeah, this was the worst experience in my life. My mom ended up having diarrhea all over herself, cause she didnāt know where we were gonna go. I literally had a plea with the security guard that was here on dayshift. He was actually very nice because they didnāt know anything about it. There wasnāt even a note left to them that we couldnāt re-rent I explained to him that my son was autistic. Then he proceeded to tell me there was some type of a hand hand exchange, which I couldnāt even possibly fathom. What could it be my friend was there on Tuesday I had put a match book and money cause she had called me asked me for a lighter and I didnāt have it I gave her some little bit of money that I had when she came here, but I said it right on top of the machine with the matchbook so I canāt imagine it being that but then again thatās after security had came to me after she had left so maybe it was at who knows bottom line is these people have no customer appreciation theyāre rude as shit. Their security on swing ship is very weird to top it all off the room that I was staying in was a deluxe room in the Klondike room, there was roaches that just kept coming out from the bathroom or in the bathroom sink. I finally changed my room today and since they waived my resort fee of $33 I went upstairs right now and they put me in one of their oldest rooms lol itās pretty sad because I love this place service security used to be excellent but yeah, you think that they would help me out here in some little way possible after all the grief they caused me. This has been the worst stay here of my entire life. They try to kick us out over my autistic son without even consulting or coming and talking to me first you know the person registered to the room. They just let front desk know that I canāt proceed. Going forward to re-rent. I have to plea with the next security guard.Lisa front desk is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been staying at this hotel for about 10 years and I like being away from the strip. It is a little dated however it has a lot going for it, albeit with some quirks.||Thank goodness the hotel has stopped the ridiculous practice of actually charging the deposit (now increased to $150 per stay) to a guest's card rather than simply earmarking the funds in line with every other hotel in the world. This prevents penal exchange rates being charged.||In advance of my visit I contacted Lisa Newton on the front desk to explore the possibility of a late check out. Ms Newton was abrupt and unhelpful in her reply email and whilst I didn't expect her to agree to a late check out of 17:00, I did expect more understanding in granting some latitude with the early 11:00 standard check out time as I had a late evening flight. I was curtly told that I would have to pay $56.50 (presumably plus tax) if I wanted an extension up to 15:00. Every single hotel I have ever stayed at in my life has always been more flexible in this regard for up to 2 hours, and ones I visit regularly up to 16:00. The hotel does not provide luggage storage facilities which, given the early standard check out time, makes life very challenging for guests with evening flights.||The hotel now operates a system whereby guests have to opt in to room servicing and this was not explained at check in. Consequently my room was not cleaned the first morning. Once I had requested this it was never serviced before 16:00, which I consider late.||Yet again the pool and hot tub were out of service "for maintainence". Perhaps I have been unlucky that this has been the case on every visit (totalling 8 nights) over the past 2 years. The Resort Fee at the hotel continues to rise each visit and is totally unreasonable given my previous comments. In reality, all I received was two tiny bottles of drinking water each day. There is no charge for parking at his hotel however I did not have a car and no reason to make any phone calls.||The wifi performance was very poor.||The highlight of my stay is always The Sourdough Cafe, and this visit was no exception. Whilst prices have risen since last year, the food quality is good and portions are generous. I found the staff in The Sourdough to be efficient, friendly and helpful.||Arizona Charlies, Decatur could have a lot going for it if it would totally refocus on providing a quality service to guests. This has very much...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGot a good deal for Tuesday night. Booked a king bed got 2 queen beds. They didn't have a king bed so they changed the booking. The room was for disabled person which we did want for my wife. It also had a wonderful view of the south side and of the strip. We decided to stay 2 more day and was planning on staying for a week. Of course we use the discount websites. Paid $70 for Tuesday and $130 for the next 2 nights. When I went to pay the resort fees I was told I would have to change rooms. I paid so we wouldn't have to leave sin e we got there after midnight. I told the clerk I wanted the same view and she told me she would. When we changed rooms we moved from the 6th floor to the 3rd floor which I knew the view would not be as nice. The room was the same but the window was facing a white wall with no view at all. I spoke to the same clerk to complain she said the window faces the same direction and she knew it had a wall blocking the view. I told her I would not have paid for 2 more days if I knew we were changing rooms and had a blocked window. She said I could have a view or i could have a disability room but not both. I had both. I bet if i had paid full price for the room this would not have happened. We are looking for a house and have been staying in hotels until we find our new home. In a conversation she had said her boss was a perfectionist the treatment we received is not the work of a perfectionist. The maid are very nice and helpful. Too bad the front desk is not helpful. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ARIZONA CHARLIES DECATUR TO ANYONE AND I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. Tuesday night we were considering a downtown hotel but most of them are dumps and there is a lot of trouble downtown. I would have expected this from one of them but now I wish I had gone downtown. What happened to us was very unprofessional. Joy felt good yesterday morning and planned on gambling after 10 pm, but after be in a depressing room all day she was too depressed to go and didnt fell lucky. Last night was pure hell. Joy had panic attacks feeling trapped. This room is more like a prison with a wall blocking the window than a hotel. Leaving Friday morning and will try and talk to the manager when we leave if he will talk to me not that he is going to do anything...
