The history of this mill area mirrors the history of the county. A walk around the mill shopping area reveals a truly historic railroad bridge, the mill raceway, remnants of the large dam, Carroll Baldwin Hall, Savage Park, trails and more. Inside the mill are diverse shops, eateries, and dog friendly areas. Ample parking to explore this historic district. You haven't been to Howard County until you visited this...

Located in Savage Mill, @Boyd Cru Wines is a black-owned wine bar that just opened in May. Inviting and comfortable, the ambiance was perfect for a girls day out. The art work and items on display were also black-owned, it seemed, so definitely a win for the culture. As a non-wine drinker, I actually enjoyed this spot and even found a wine that I could see myself buying (we ended up getting two bottles). The descriptions are written as moods, but you can ask for a taste if you're not sure about the notes. The food is from a neighboring spot in the building, which is full of other artisanal shops and crafting corners. The flatbread was appetizing and easily filling, as you can see. The snacks were also a nice filler while waiting on the rest of my group to arrive. I'll say it's 8/10 and absolutely recommend it.
