I came around here to watch a baseball game with my son. I am from outta town so I am not familiar with the area, keep in mind. I liked the park and all, but I did however get chased by a goose. maybe it's my pharmones or something, but these guys always chase me! So I ran off, almost tumbled down a hill and nearly lost my showe in the process. That musta been the fastest I ran in my life! anywho, I get on down the hill and see the river down near this here park. I tripped on a root on the ground and this is when my shoe did come oiff. It ended up goin flying into the river! KErsplat! gone! I did try to goin and fish it out, but by the time I got in the water it was no wheres to be seen. so iyt was for the next two hours I waddled round, trying to get unlost. Read moreA fun park. There is multiple baseball fields and basketball courts. I walked the trails with friends. The etiquette of everyone on the trails was nice. Bikers announced they were there, and people with dogs made sure the dogs didn't jump on you. I rate it four stars as the trails cross multiple places where you are not really in the woods anymore. At times you have to cross asphalt roads to continue. It is over all a nice place to run with nice scenery and wildlife. I seen deer, beavers, wasps, and bees. I also seen various spiders and different beetles. There was a plethora of birds to view as well. If you are into nature or ready to get out of the hustle and bustle of Maryland, this is a not far away...

Safe neighborhoods. Owners walking their dogs do a good job of controlling their leashes to let the runners by. Excepting the concrete uphill section by Vollmerhausen Rd., the trail is mostly level on dirt/asphalt, wear gaiters to avoid pebbles in shoes. The wooden bridges can get slippery after rain.
