Tucked inside the charming and historic Savage Mill complex, Dive Bar & Grille is a fantastic surprise that blends elevated cuisine with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the cozy yet modern vibe pulls you in—exposed brick, reclaimed wood accents, and stylish lighting give it that perfect mix of rustic and refined.

Whether you're stopping by for a casual lunch, a date night, or drinks with friends, Dive Bar & Grille delivers an experience that goes above expectations. The menu is both creative and comforting, filled with bold flavors and fresh ingredients. Their crab cakes are a local favorite—packed with jumbo lump crab and very little filler, served with a caper remoulade and creamy spinach risotto that complements every bite. If you’re into seafood, the seared ahi tuna with jasmine rice and kimchi is absolutely worth trying—it's vibrant, flavorful, and plated beautifully.

For appetizers, don’t miss the Dynamite Shrimp—crispy, spicy, and perfectly balanced—or the creamy, indulgent crab dip, which comes with toasted bread that’s just the right kind of crispy. Burger fans should definitely try the Big Kahuna Burger—a stacked creation with bacon, American cheese, and house dressing that’s rich and satisfying.

Their drink menu is equally impressive, featuring craft cocktails, a strong beer selection on tap, and wines to pair with whatever you’re eating. The bartenders are not only talented but also super friendly and happy to customize a drink to suit your taste.

What truly sets Dive Bar & Grille apart, though, is the service. The staff is knowledgeable, upbeat, and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they enjoy working there, and that translates into a better experience for every customer. Whether you're a first-timer or a returning regular, you're made to feel right at home.

Located in such a unique setting with nearby shops and walkable paths along the river, this place offers more than just great food—it's a perfect part of a day out in Savage.

Final verdict: Dive Bar & Grille is a standout restaurant with great food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. It's definitely worth...

Dive Bar and Grill

This was my first time walking out of a restaurant after being “ seated”. Thursday May 26 2022, we walked into the restaurant approximately 845 pm and stood at the host stand. There were a few groups of diners and some patrons at the bar. It was not overly busy to the outside eye. The host was in conversation with someone else and glanced at my adult daughter and me - and continued her conversation. When she finally stopped taking she just stared at us. I had to speak first so I asked if we could sit outside. She made a face and started peering around and consulting different areas of the host stand. After a few minutes she got menus and she started walking so we followed her. She walked us outside where there were one or two groups dining that looked at the end of their meals. She said “sit anywhere, it doesn’t matter because we are closing up. I looked at my watch, which said 8:53 - and asked what time do you close? She said “downstairs kitchen is open until 11 but ours closes at 10 and we close at 11. So if you were planning to hang out you can’t. “

I responded that we were not hanging out, we were just hungry.

She said, “well if it rains, these umbrellas aren’t waterproof so you’re taking your chances.”

We sat down and as she left, she said, “it may be awhile before someone gets to you”.

The two of us had just come from a high school senior awards show that ran late. We live three miles away from the Dive bar and we loved it when it was Rams Head. We have never been made to feel that unwelcome in a restaurant. So we walked out. We felt like we were intruding.

As we left we walked past our “host” sitting in the back with a server who was rolling silverware. She made eye contact and I can’t help feeling she looked smug- as if she achieved her goal.

Then we drove past our house almost all the way back to the high school we just left to eat at Looneys. Not the experience or food we were looking for but at least the host was pleasant and the wait staff was friendly. We didn’t feel like an irritation.

What a disappointment at a restaurant we were...

Odd bartending: Got to bar at lunch time, made eye contact, called out a drink order. Bartender acted as if I was speaking out of turn. He readied my placemat & silverware then asked for my drink order despite clearly hearing me 30s ago! Are you a bartender or a waiter? Next visit diff bartender did not know how to pour a Guinness. TOO MUCH BREAD on sandwiches, give us some meat! Paltry. Reuben Sandwich and Glazed Brussel Sprouts (pic). Sprouts had too much glaze on them. And why did they reinvented the reuben? Each piece of bread was thicker than content of the sandwich. One of these two likely caused food poisoning as 30 minutes later I was in hard pain on the toilet. I called to let them know, manager called me back, did not leave a message. I had to call back several times, but then he was receptive to the feedback. Our friends had nachos and quesadillas (pics). Loved them, and had plenty of leftovers. My vegetarian wife got the caprese salad (pic) and Cauliflower "wings" (pic). Waitress did not know what the caprese salad was, cause they give everything goofy names on menu. The salad was excellent, had it twice now. The cauliflower was decent but not exciting. Black & Bleu burger (pic) had potential, but was undercooked. Should have sent it back, but just ate around the middle with my fork. It messed with my stomach that afternoon. French dip sandwich (pic) was pretty good except it had some onion peels in there that were not chewable. Second time did not have the onion problem, but the meat was lower grade. Had to spit out 3-4 little pieces of unchewable, tough gristle. Third time there wasn't any meat in the middle of the sandwich (see pic) two inces of bread and no meat! I'm giving up on their french dip. The home fried chips are delicious, but tend to be over-salted. Sweet Potato Tots w Brown Sugar Butter (pic) were decent, but were kinda like a dessert. We ordered them as an app and mostly...

This is an odd place, the restaurant is separated into 3 distinct floors with an additional loft area on the 3rd level. The menu is described as eclectic, which it absolutely is. There's a wide selection of food and beverage so the average person is likely to find something to peak their interest. The staff is friendly, and the food and drink was pretty good. I get the sense that the location is relatively understaffed, a single bartender with occasional assistance worked the entire 3rd floor on trivia night. As a result service was incredibly slow. I don't generally mind service issues when the staffing is obviously low. Unfortunately this meant we barely got a second drink service in before the end of happy hour after ~1hr. Additionally, food service was incredibly slow. Missing food items for our admittedly large-ish (9) party took an additional 10 or so minutes to arrive and did so lukewarm at best. I ordered naked wings with two different sauces, as you can see in the attached picture, I received buffalo wings and a dressing sauce I did not order. The wings were still good, which is lucky, as I had no desire to wait another 25 minutes to get my order corrected. I did wait the 5 minutes to get the sauces I wanted to try, but this involved leaving my table to go to the bar and waiting 5 minutes to find a member of staff to inform first. The lone person working the entire floor also meant it took an overly long time to close out the check. Ultimately, the restaurant is an overall miss for me. There's a lot to like, but not enough to balance the detractors. It's the type of place that I'd give a second chance to because other folks wanted to go, but not one I'm in a hurry to revisit on my own.
