Although, I rarely write reviews this is necessary due to what I witnessed today. First, the House of Yahweh has absolutely NO Black people that I have seen as a resident in the neighborhood receive food or services...today a woman/mother was turned away while many Men, Hispanics received boxes of food. Based on what I SAW AND MANY OTHERS THIS PLACE DOES NOT deserve donations when they are committed to serving ALL regardless of race, but perhaps RACE DOES MATTER. This is not what I consider "OF GOD" WHICH IS WHAT YAHWEH means. They should be ashamed of themselves and apologies to any family of color being shunned or turned away by this place.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND OR DONATE TO THIS SO CALLED CHARITY GIVEN THIS FALSE STATEMENT --"The center is known for its commitment to addressing social issues like homelessness, hunger, and poverty. It also provides opportunities for individuals seeking to volunteer and make a difference in their community. The center is recognized for its work with victims of domestic violence and low-income families. It is a trusted organization for those wanting to contribute to meaningful cause." IF YOU NEED FOOD PLEASE CALL THE SALVATION ARMY OR 211 AND DONATE TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT VALUE FAIRNESS AND EQUALITY FOR ALL. Shame on the "house...
Read moreI've come a couple times and donated (and I've looked around for stuff). There's usually only one person working on the floor so just know your visit might not be that quick. The first time I waited about 5 minutes at the cashier's desk just to donate a bag of clothes. But no problem, just don't go if you're short on time. On my second visit someone took the bags I was donating from me right after I parked. Your experience may vary.
They carry mostly women's clothes. Right now they have some Christmas items and cards, which was cool! I went on a Friday and there was a special sale that day - if I recall, dresses were $1. Their clothing is good quality and good prices on days that don't have special deals. I got a wool coat for $7. Blouses are $3. I think pants are also $3. I don't know how often prices change, but those were the prices as of November 2021.
There's a section for shoes, a children's section, a bookshelf of DVDs (and I think another of CDs), a Plus Size section, sheets/fabric, some gadgets, and kitchenware. They also have a bunch of cheap plants. Really cute.
Parking only fits like 6 cars at once, so you might have to park on a...
Read moreHas the worse sell people never want to help u and they sort clothes and items people donate keeping the best for themselfs. As far as food goes they give u all the worse taking care that people and stores donate and if u say something they tell u to go ealswhere. Some one up above should look into this facility. Donna supposibly she's the one in charge if you complaint about anything she doesn't allow you back in the building she is very unprofessional and rudem. It's a shame because it's a very nice thrift store to go and buy especially now that we are going thru such hard times financially. I honostly think Donna should be replaced by someone more conpationet and profetional. Thank You...
