Got 2 cats from here (3/4 days apart) we were assured both were healthy, 24hrs of getting the first cat, URI bad enough she couldnt hardly breath, had to fight for nearly a month with shelter to pay for a vet visit because in their own words "oh yea, she gets them off and on & she'll be over it in about 2 weeks." For future reference LAS, if you have an animal like this then this is information possible owners should be made aware of from the start, even more so when they have asked "do they have any health issues?"
2nd cat, we were assured he was getting over a flea allergy, that was the reason for his loss of fur, he continued to lose fur so we thought food allergy, changed food....nope ringworm, house inhabitants (2 adults & 1 cat not from the shelter, that has been with us for a yr, strictly indoor cat so def wasnt from her) are now infected despite the fact the kittens have been quarantined from the get go, been dealing with this for 2 months now. For 2 months they have been confined to one room due to being unhealthy straight out of the animal shelter.
I have tried to tough it out (since getting the first cat treated was a fight in itself & i didnt want to have another long, drawn out conversation on the phone about treating the 2nd cat) in treating them but it is becoming costly and it isnt a cost we should have needed to pay for if the male cat had been healthy from the start.
Bottom line, if you want unhealthy cats this is the...
Read moreWill not be back!!!!Refused to let u have a animal if your other animals (at home) wasn't spayed or neutered. and will only let u have one of If get the others done. That's none of there business bc they didn't come from there. And they can't make you do that. And cannot deny you one on those grounds alone. Considering both this and mine are females....They were rude and hateful. Needs to be under new management!!!!! They cannot tell you what to do with your other animals. And they have no right to. It's sad because I could have gave this dog a very loving home with a fenced-in yard over 2 acres. kids to play with. Vacation rides and all. So bc of of this I went bought a dog. Paid $500 for her. There so over packed down there no wonder.... There application wants your whole life story and some of them questions is none of there business and shouldn't be asked. Will go in future to a different pound. Very hateful women with gages...
Read moreAdopted a kitten they said had been sick with a cold but was ready to be taken home after a 4 day wait. 3 days later, called because kitten was very sick. Was told. "Sorry we can't help you but please keep us updated,' YEAH OKAY! Got kitten seen by veterinarian and after a $250 vet bill, our new boy is gonna be okay. Actually he was sicker than we thought. Had terrible ear infection and ear mites that were "supposedly treated". Another $150 vet bill but hes so worth it. The Veterinarian couldn't even find on his medical records from Humane Society what medications had been used to treat kittens condition, if he was even treated. I'm thankful we adopted from there though, otherwise kitten would most likely be dead. Such a sad story to post but sometimes honesty is a hard thing to hear. If you can't treat them, send to another facility. I'd honestly rather see them euthanized than in a tiny cage sick and suffering...
