First off it’s a beautiful Venue I will give it that and why my rating is higher than 1or 2 stars. But to everyone raving about the food being good I’m sorry but either their tastebuds are off or they are straight up lying. I came here for a quinceañera a few weeks ago and granted I was criticizing everything down to the bathroom since I myself have been looking for a venue for my own wedding. Upon first impression outside of the venue hall it is gorgeous with ample parking in a pretty nice location. Walking in the lobby is also spacious and has great decoration with a grand stairwell that is optimal for pictures. The bathrooms were kept clean for the majority of the event and walking into the actual ballroom the decoration and natural lighting really made me wonder if this could be where I could have my wedding. Now my biggest critique would be with the food, and when that started coming out a couple of things to note for the banquet portion of this venue for anyone LOOKING to book here: The soup did smell really good and it also was not too bad, this is what started to give me hopes for everything else… boy was I wrong. The salad came next and it was quite literally out of a bag of spring mix just sprinkled on the plate with the ittiest bittiest croutons ever. The dressing put on the table was the saving grace for that. Next the entrees. As they were coming out I took note and honestly couldn’t tell if it looked like chicken rice and potatoes with veggies but it was actually mashed potatoes with broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower with.. BOILED chicken breasts and a white gravy over the top. I think this is where my experience was ultimately shattered and I made up my negative opinion about not even considering this place any further. You could tell on all the guests faces that it was of disgust and total w.t.f. Moments going around. To pay well above 10-20k for boiled chicken really did just did not sit well. The fact the chicken couldn’t even be seared on both sides for a millisecond to make it not as disgusting is well beyond me and why it was not done. Of course every guest including me did eat this horrid concoction having come here hungry and knowing this would be our dinner for the evening so if we didn’t eat we would stay without food until we reached our homes. Needless to say however we really had to try and eat this (think wwII rations 🤢) so dry, flavorless and in desperate need of the salt and pepper shakers. The other thing is the bread. A SINGLE round was brought out and there were no refills whatsoever so not everyone got to eat bread which was cold. For the icing on the cake: dessert. They set down a small scoop of vanilla ice cream in a plate and later set down the cake on the edges of the table slices of it that was THANKFULLY brought from somewhere else and was actually delicious. That right there was the highlight of the food and the only thing not provided by their god awful kitchen. I hate to write such a lengthy and negative review. But trust me that I only write reviews when a business either totally exceeds my expectations or when the experience is absolutely awful in order to help others make a well thought out decision and know what they are in for. My advice if considering this as a venue? Either be ok with really bad food and enjoy the beautiful venue or take this off your list and move on to the next if food is a big factor you’re looking...
Read moreI wish I could give this banquet hall 0 stars. The service and quality has completely deteriorated, and will continue to go down. I hosted a party 2 years ago and after having my 2nd party here, I will never host ever again or even come back as a guest. The lack of professionalism from the staff and owner trickles down into the employees who looked miserable during the party and conveyed their attitudes towards myself and my guests. The quality and service from 2 years ago has became so horrible. The food was absolute below average. The pork cutlets were either a day old or so poorly made that they dried out/and were burnt to the point that you could barely eat them. Other meats tasted as if they were just boiled and tossed in sauces. 65 per person on a Saturday is not worth terrible food. My previous party was astounding and I could not wait to come back - I regret my choice now and will never be back. I will highly recommend other banquet halls in the area over this one. Consistency is important in continuing to have a great banquet hall and these owners have not done that. They treat others differently and didn't even give me the bare minimum - so much was missing from my party. Water pitchers, glasses for soda/water, wine that was included in the party package. They also expect you to pay 55 for a child to eat the same food. Again, I am so disappointed in this new era of CGB and would not recommend ANYONE to go there. so much...
Read moreWe had my daughters wedding reception at Crystal Grand Banquets in Lemont, IL in October 2024. The staff were wonderful to work with! They were very attentive and responsive to questions and ensuring our needs were being met. The space is absolutely beautiful. There is plenty of parking. Several locations on site for pictures. I was nervous about the food after reading some other reviews. However, the food absolutely exceeded our expectations! We had butler passed appetizers--6 varieties. They were outstanding! Dinner was family style to include roast beef, fettuccini alfredo and polish sausage. Again, so good! The staff were professional and super friendly as they interacted with all the guests. We had purchased a wedding cake from an outside baker. They cut the cake and served it with a dish of ice cream to each guest at their table. We received many compliments about the venue. Would absolutely have another event here! The only surprise we had was the form of payment required for the final installment. We had made two deposits during the year via credit card. Final payment must be cashier check or cash. Just good to know as you are planning to...
