Couple of drives from the free round at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club. Great course I highly recommend if you play in the Chicagoland area. #golfswing #golftok #golf #wilson #dynapower

Service is the name of the game which is why I love this course…Challenging, lots of rolling hills, well-maintained.

When I came to play with my golf league, they could not do enough for us… we received first class service as they were all so friendly, attentive and helpful! And, even when we came to play on our own, they were super nice. I love that they provided water and ice in the coolers on the carts and on the course (nice touch) plus had a lovely bathroom on the course!

*Vern Ecker, the Golf Operations Manager, and his staff are excellent! He is a true professional who ensures your visit is top-notch and that everyone on his team is warm and welcoming. It really makes a difference! He is all about service and is very generous In taking care of the golfers guaranteeing a great time had by all! The starter and ranger plus staff all around the course were very friendly, respectful and attentive, as well

I also appreciated their driving range being off the grass (though I would recommend a sign indicating how far each flag is from the tee boxes) and was grateful for the water cooler.

They also have a very nice clubhouse. Food is decent in the restaurant. Though I’m not sure about banquet food, both times I was there, all private rooms were packed! It’s a very popular destination for special events.

The main improvement can be around communication as it relates to the phone system. When customers call the main number (like I did today when I left a club on a hole behind me during play and was trying to reach the pro shop staff to have them check because there was a competition behind us so turning back would have been problematic) the receptionist just kept putting me on hold immediately without finding out what i needed (4x!) so that was super annoying. She should at least ask the nature of your call because she could’ve just transferred me to the pro shop immediately. The good news is the Ranger did find our clubs and reached me before I actually turned around. Yea!

There are issues also when calling the pro shop. One day I called five times and they just kept putting the phone on the desk when they’re looking for Vern or even to check on something. It was bizarre. They would leave you holding for 10 minutes while they’re talking to other customers and they did it repeatedly…. They need to be more mindful of a customers time and availability… I had to go to work and I had to keep calling back because the guy just kept putting the phone on the desk and never came back to the phone…I think they should have a better communication system and also staff should be able to either find Vern more quickly or be able make a decision without Vern always needing to weigh in. Or, even just take a message and get it to Vern immediately…or give more immediate access to him when he is working. (Give Vern a vm box too). Those are suggestions for improvement regarding the customer experience prior to arriving at the course.

However, once you are at RF, it’s a 5-Star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️experience! They take very good care of you and ensure you feel like a valued customer. Kudos to ruffled feathers! I’ll most...

0 stars if I could, even negative five if possible. The food here was absolutely vile and disrespectful. Even the drinks made make a face to my friend. The salad felt like rabbit scraps, nearly nobody in a room of 100+ ate at the salad. It looked like the decorations in a fish tank that the fish would probably kill itself on. The second course, chicken piccata, fresh vegetables, and mashed potatoes. It was none of that. From afar, our table couldn't tell if the chicken was on the mashed potatoes or not because of how white, unseasoned, and disgusting the chicken was. It was a shame to even see that with my own eyes. The chicken had no flavor, and chicken piccata is said to be a buttery, lemony dish. The only lemon flavor I was experienced was how sour I was after seeing the dish. I literally had to walk back to the kitchen and ask for salt and pepper to even taste anything on my plate. The mashed potatoes looked like a pile of fresh snow because of how unseasoned and gritty they were. There was no taste, no nothing in them. The fresh vegetables were again like rabbit food on the side. I didn't even have a lemon for my chicken piccata to try to give it some sort of taste. Not to mention, the chicken was pinker than me on a hot summer day. I had to use my flash on my phone to try to see if I would die before eating it. My chicken had mysterious red streaks in it. I did eat some of it, and afterwards, I felt so nauseous and I was genuinely scared if i would die in a place like this. The last course, chocolate cake. macerated Berries, raspberry sauce. The sauce seemed like it was trying to cover up how dry the cake was. I pushed it off and tried the cake, and it was probably the only edible thing that night, if you had a cup of water due to how dry the cake was. The frosting felt like you scoped it up from Aldi frosting and plastered it on the cake. The only drinks I could stand were the water and lemonade which tasted like it came from the powder you pour in water and stir. The pop, Starry, Diet Pepsi, and Pepsi were probably the worst pops I ever had in my life. It was so watered down and flat, even the flat earthers would be amazed. No flavor whatsoever. Safe to say I will never come back here for any event, even for my own funeral. I feel like I got ripped off and scammed, I cannot even think about the food I was given. The server workers were very kind, and none of this is directed towards them, all of this is for the kitchen and chefs. Plus, it seemed like they were understaffed.

If you are another customer reading this review, please heed my warning and do not come here unless you have money to waste for a...

Writing an honest review for future brides: Pros Food was tasty Servers and bartenders were friendly and funny Venue is recently updated and neutrally decorated so you can customize it to your vision

Unfortunately I cannot give the venue more than 2 stars due to the following cons:

For some reason, the wedding coordinator made multiple promises the venue didn’t keep. She said there was an event scheduled til 2PM that would be cleaned up by 3, and that she would close off the bar area for our “first look” around 2:45. Our contract also stated that there would be no other events scheduled at the same time as our wedding. None of these things ended up being true.

A lot of strangers were intruding on our first personal moments before our wedding when we got to the venue around 2:45 with our photographer and videographer. That wedding shower was still hanging around and not cleared out. The bar area wasn’t closed off and patrons sat at the bar as we were trying to capture our first look. There was also 2 tables of 6 people each doing their wedding tastings in the bar area. The excitement from the wedding party caused strangers to follow us around the venue as we tried to take pictures and capture moments without random people in our photos/video.

Also, there was a birthday party downstairs at the same time as our wedding. Those guests also wandered around and were peeking in on our event. In addition to feeling intruded on and lied to, someone stole $100 from my mom’s purse in the bridal suite, which is located above the staircase that led down to the birthday party

During pre-ceremony photos, a staff member literally started vacuuming right outside the train of my dress and directly in the frame of the photo. Our photographer calmly asked her to stop and come back in a few minutes, to which the girl very rudely said, “No,” and kept vacuuming. We left and continued pictures elsewhere. I was appalled.

Tricky wording in contract. We paid to rent the space for 6hrs plus a fee for getting married at the gazebo. Due to bad weather, our ceremony was moved inside where our reception was also held. The venue wouldn’t waive the fee for the gazebo, so we paid to rent same space twice.

Again, all this is on the event management and not the servers/bartenders who were fantastic. The end-to-end experience was grossly underwhelming. They should make brides feel special. Most of us are only doing this once in our lives. Our florist got married there and tried to warn me about how the venue handled her wedding earlier in the year, but I’d already signed...
