It's a cool place, and was great to try different activities. However, I do wish there had been more direction and instruction and that the staff had been more engaged. Some activities (i.e. archery tag) had no signage, there wasn't a staff member available to guide you on what to do, when to start, rules, etc. When I went to archery, it was not clear if there was a line or if you could just walk up and start (again, no staff member present. The one that did eventually show up asked if we were there for archery, said ok, then quickly ran off, never to be seen again). Finally, someone else arrived and provided about 30 sec of instruction/ safety before that employee also disappeared, even though I told them I had never done archery before. Luckily, there was a nice lady next to me who was experienced and offered additional help on how to hold everything, aim, etc.
Overall, employees seemed more interested in socializing with each other than helping guests. They were also uneducated on activities that were supposed to be offered. For example, I asked about a couple of different activities we wanted to try throughout the day and was told they don't offer them. When I pointed out it was on the list of activities I was given, the employees seemed clueless and said they didn't know. They didn't ask anyone or offer more help, and one just pointed me in the opposite direction, saying, "I think it's over that way." Due to this, I was not able to do everything I had planned, which made the admission price a little high for the few activities I was able to do. And while I did not participate in the climbing or zip line activities, my experience with the other staff, in terms of helpfulness and knowledge/training, sadly, made me question if I would be comfortable or even feel safe doing them...
Read moreWhat an eventful day at the forge. Let me start by saying I'm terribly terrified of highs. So this place definitely put me out of my comfort zone, which is what I was looking for. Im not very athletic either, so I was a bit intimated as well. When first checking in, Izzy was a big help and answered all of our questions. It was our first time, so it definitely helped to get a better understanding of how it all worked. Had a quick bite to eat at the foundry. Which has ampile ammout of seating and wonderful views of the place. After our flavorful hot dogs, we headed to the archery targets. Super cool experience where u can move your targets at an array of distances. Our climb time slot was approaching, so we headed back by the climb checkin. Then Luke helped us gear up and made sure we had everything on properly. We went through a training course and were set free, lol. While out on the hexes, Hunter was a big help. In my opinion, the courses are upper body demanding. They were definitely worth the adrenaline rush and work out. It was terrifyingly terrific. I completed courses I never thought I could complete. 100% recommend. They truly have something for everyone. Dave was also very informative. He was the staff member who got us ready to zip down the line. Thank you to you all at the forge for an amazing time. Definitely will...
Read moreWe had a family day out at The Forge. My granddaughter was playing a drum solo. Of course, the family showed up. There was an art festival going on. There are not a lot of vendors. That didn't keep us from having a good time. They also had dance lessons going on the stage in the back. The Hawaiian food truck, woow great food. DOG FRIENDLY!Deducted a star for the bathrooms out of toliet paper and not very clean. The parking is strange, no way or no one to tell you if you need to go to the overflow parking. If you have any type of issues with walking, this is the place for you. Just getting in from parking is a long walk. There appears to be 3 lots, but we didn't realize that until it was too late. If you get there early enough, go past what you think is the main parking. There is another lot closer to entrance. Comfortable chairs to sit by the water or inside the net area with the kids. It's definitely a...
