Nice area to walk Sandy trails, or they have a paved bike trail!! We are not so used to the amount of sand trails! I will say this though it works your legs out faster trudging through!! Make sure you carry bottled water, towels, weather it's paper or cloth something to wipe the sand off!! Oh, and this has been the only place we've hiked in a while that actually has burrs!! ( The little round prickly things that get caught on your shoe laces or any cloth type material!! Even though the sky was overcast it still made for a nice day! ( The sun would have burned us up anyway!) It's a little hard to start out, so we went to the nature center first! (They loan bikes out also right next door in the little barn!) It gave us a chance to look at some of the Marine life, and use the facilities!! 😏 They did have a couple of starting points for the trails also! All and all we had a really nice time walking the beach and exploring! And just enjoying the views!! Really nice place to take pics!! Hope you all enjoy as much as we did!! Thank you all for stopping by to read...

I really liked this place. The water is very calm and perfect for small children, short people and people who plain and simple can not swim. The tide rises in late afternoon as expected but its still not a dangerous place for the little ones. There is enough space at the beach area for everyone and people were respectful as far as keeping the noise down and if they had music, it was at a decent volume. I had a good time. This place loses a star(possibly two) for the parking situation. I arrived at 12pm and did not get to park until approx. 1:15pm. The parking is extremely limited and people can choose to pay for up to 6 hours of parking. So if you don’t get lucky, you have nowhere to park close enough to the beach. The beach is not located near regular streets to where you can park your car somewhere close and then walk to it. I feel like there should be more parking options given that its a popular beach area. I would arrive right as they open, to avoid the long wait...

Currently the observation Tower is closed for repairs and the Point is closed because birds are migrating or mating there. There is a small nature center inside the park and numerous walking, hiking and biking trails. There are a number of public beaches here. Right now there is plenty of parking and privacy on the beach, but I am certain this will change when the weather warms up. There is a light house on the bay side and another on the Atlantic beach side, but it's hard to get a good view with the Point not being open now. It is a great place to bird...

I went here to watch the sunset. I spent some time wading in the water too. It’s a nice little beach. I liked that they had a full body and foot washing station, multiple trash cans around, and a bathroom. I didn’t like the parking situation. Luckily, I went when it wasn’t busy because I couldn’t imagine being able to park in their tiny metered lot ($2.50/hr) during peak times. I think there’s more parking nearby. Overall, I enjoyed it.

This public beach is well worth the trip. There are a couple of hidden gems here. Once you go to public parking, follow one of the trails to the beach. We parked at two locations. One lead us to a beach that was so peaceful and beautiful. There were only a few people on it. Very serene. The other beach took us to a shallow sand shore and on the shoreline were dozens of horseshoe crabs. I had never seen so many.
