My 18 year old son had a terrible experience with the Savannah Beach parking lot patrol. His first time driving to the beach, and he didn’t see the parking meter since it was on the other side of the lot so he of course got a ticket. There is apparently a sign in the middle of the parking lot to which he didn’t even pass by when he parked that said pull in parking only. He backed in, as he does everywhere else so got another ticket added. He was there for a total of one hour and got an $80 ticket. He went to the parking lot patrol building to apologize and to offer to pay and was spoken to in the most disrespectful manner by an older gentleman, and my mind is blown. This man called him retarded, asked him if he was blind, asked him if he was stupid and had he never taken drivers ed! According to this man it’s a law that you’re not allowed to back into diagonal parking spots, which is not accurate. We all back in diagonal spaces in Dover, where we live. He then taunted my son by saying, go ahead and see what happens if you don’t pay. In seven days, it goes up by $40 and then if you still don’t pay, we take your license. Totally unacceptable and this man has no business working with the public! He is lucky there is no phone number listed to his building because he would 100% be getting a phone call. If I weren’t an hour away, I’d drive there but he’s not worth my...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could as we had a horrible experience with an older gentleman, Gary. Gary came up to my car as I was about to ask someone if they were leaving. I was literally rolling down my window to ask when Gary barked at me to move. I moved to the side and he continued making rude and aggressive comments. He could have asked nicely and I would have complied but he came at me so rudely and aggressively then cut me off before I could even complete my sentence. Also, I am not 100% sure but I think he's the same individual who, 15 minutes earlier, made a callous remark to us. After my young daughter and I had driven for 4 hours in terrible traffic, circled the lot twice and another lot nearby and found no spaces, we parked in the 15 minute space to use the bathroom. My daughter was crying because she was so upset we hadn't found a spot and I was reassuring her, "Honey, please don't cry we will keep looking for a spot" and this older parking lot gentleman, who could see my daughter in tears says, "You'll never find a spot." Like, WTH? Not helpful dude. Please get training to learn how to communicate more effectively or consider a job that is not customer...
Read moreWarning: This Place Is a Parking Ticket Trap!
Be cautious when parking here—they’re quick to slap you with fines, pointing to a small "Metered Parking" sign barely visible, tucked low in the grass near the main entrance, standing just 1-2 feet off the ground. Another sign, partially obscured by the club building from my parking spot, spins in the wind, practically designed to go unnoticed.
I received a $40 fine because I didn’t spot their elusive sign at first, even though I paid immediately upon noticing it about half hour lator. My appeal was dismissed without a second thought. Supervisor Crawford seemed either dumb or deliberately indifferent, completely ignoring the issues I raised. Manager Ellen was equally rude on it.
Shockingly, I later discovered an online report revealing that a quarter of their annual parking revenue comes from these tickets and fines.
My first visit to this beach was an infuriating experience, and I’ll never return. The parking lot is managed by a...
