Last year, I was recommended this establishment by a colleague, and it quickly became one of my favorite places to dine. However, my recent experience has left me with mixed feelings. Last night, my husband and I decided to stop by after an event on the beach, arriving at approximately 8:36 pm. Upon entering the restaurant, we inquired with the hostess about sitting at the bar, to which she granted permission.
To our surprise, as we approached the bar, the man tending it abruptly and loudly informed us that the kitchen was closed. The bartender's reaction seemed incredulous, as though the mere suggestion of sitting at the bar was beyond comprehension.
Shortly thereafter, a woman approached us and reiterated, in a rather loud manner, that the kitchen was closed and last seating occurred 45 minutes before closing. We politely mentioned that the hostess had given us the go-ahead, but her response was dismissive, stating that the hostess lacked awareness of such matters. This left us confused as we would expect the hostess to be well-informed about seating arrangements.
While I completely understand the establishment's policy of closing the kitchen before the official closing time, the manner in which we were handled was disheartening and unprofessional. The exchange was conducted at a volume that attracted the attention of other patrons, making the situation rather uncomfortable.
I must express my disappointment with this particular visit to an otherwise enjoyable dining spot. I hope that the management will address the matter, ensuring that customers are treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were looking for a pit stop for food on our way to the beach and came across this place. The person who greeted and seated us was super friendly along with the server. The atmosphere was laid back. I wanted to try something new and different so I ordered some concoction of watermelon, mint and alcohol. I forgot what it was called but it was recommended to me by the server. It wasn't my cup of tea as the mint was a bit overwhelming whilst the watermelon was not. We ordered my daughter lemonade and the taste was really off but the server was kind enough to swap it out for another drink. My fiance ordered a beer and enjoyed it. They gave us a small pitcher of water which was convenient.
My fiance order a hamburger, I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich, and my daughter ordered chicken tenders and fries. The food did not seem like it was seasoned enough for us. I did enjoy their pickle that came with it though! The ratings are great which is why we decided to stop. Maybe we're used to overly seasoned food? It was also bit pricey for what we ordered but we get that it's in a heavy tourist area.
All in all, I think the staff and service was fantastic and is what led to the 4-stars. The food was not what we expected and a bit pricey. Thank you for the hospitality,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsurdly expensive for subpar food!
I ordered the chicken and brie sandwich. As of writing this review, it cost $18.50, which is by no means cheap for a sandwich. What I got was a huge disappointment. Not even a full chicken breast to cover the bun, a tiny sliver of unmelted brie on top, and so much sweet fig jam slathered on top of everything, it makes you wonder if they were trying to hide something.
For $18.50 it doesn't even come with a side of fries! Only a bag of chips. If you want a normal side of fries, salad, or coleslaw, that's an extra $3. Maybe I'm out of touch with current inflation pricing, but paying extra for fries or a salad with a sandwich is absurd.
Nearby, both the Olive and Oats and Eggcelent offer better sandwiches for a much...
