I noticed you didn't post my review, do you only post the positive ones? In your response you stated that the "suggested retail price" is the original price. You just confirmed that you were charging $1,000 for a loveseat I could buy for $421. Suggested retail prices come from the producer of the product and not the seller of the product. I will include your response when I post a review to yelp and update the information provided to the BBB and the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce. They can add price gouging to the deceptive advertising complaint.

I was shopping on-line for a loveseat and compared the pricing of the same couch at Sylvan Furniture in Lewiston, ID and Moscow Furniture, in Moscow, ID. From their websites I could see the same SKU #9910135 and the same UPC #. The couch advertised from Sylvan listed the price at $599 and had the statement “48% off” and I called Sylvan and asked Ed what that meant. He said “I don’t know, the original cost?”, I asked him to find out what that meant and call me back. Ed called back and said “That was the original price we were charging, it is now 48% off the original price.” I asked Ed “So you were charging $1,000 for this loveseat and now you are charging $599?” Ed again confirmed this. I asked Ed why Moscow Furniture is selling the exact same loveseat for $421 with no reductions in price. Ed told me “Well, that was the suggested retail price.” I replied “Ed, you told me three times you were charging $1,000 for this loveseat and this was not the “suggested retail price” and Ed replied “That’s true, I did say that.” I asked him how Moscow Furniture could sell a $1,000 loveseat for $420 and he told me I should buy that one. He further told me that the loveseat was $150 off due to a sale they were having, but the loveseat was not included in the $150 special offer advertisement link on their website nor was it listed at the reduced price on their website, nor was I offered the $150 price when I originally inquired.

I believe Sylvan Furniture mislead people to believe the loveseat was “48% off” their original price, lied to me when I asked about it, and further misled me about a $150 discount. Sylvan Furniture has had issues with this in the past so I formally request in inquiry into their deceptive advertising and...

Sadly, I have to amend my review from below. Our experience was while purchasing a bedroom set in May. At our convenience, we paid in full without the set being in stock and apparently got forgot. Assured that we'd be updated in June with the anticipated filing of our purchase to be delivered 8 weeks after order, we didn't hear anything. Now... since I contacted THEM, I find out part of it has yet to be in the country; expecting it to hit the coast end of August and hoping for delivery 🙏 by end of September. I realize shipping has been a casualty of COVID, but if your running a business affected by this, you have a responsibility to keep customers informed, not just leaving them hanging an extra 2 months (best case).

May not be world best furniture, but I'd say it's the valley's best quality without having a custom made piece. Service was very good: well organized and knowledgeable about availability and process to complete the entire transaction with plans for communicating. My husband and I walked into Sylvan Furniture with the hope of finding a pair of recliners to replace our existing, as they have been worn out. Shirley approached us and asked if she could help...and boy did she! We learned about the improvements in recliners made by Lazy Boy and found the perfect chair. The problem would have been in ordering the 2nd chair and having to wait 8-9 months. Shirley solved that problem for us by checking to see what they had on ordered and found an exact replica of the chair on the floor and it was coming in a reasonable amount of time. We left Sylvan Furniture very satisfied and pleased with our purchase and now anxious to have our new chairs delivered and set up. it was a great experience so far and we anticipate the delivery and set up will be great as well.
