When Activate games opened in Lexington my son and I loved going. However, we went yesterday and had the worst customer service experience we've had there. My son and I was in the hoops room when a young guy who works there burst through the door and tells us to stop throwing the ball at the goal but put it in the goal. I was confused and asked what he meant because we are not great ball players . The young man began to tell me that my son and I was throwing the ball at the goal intentionally instead of trying to make the goal. I was still so confused as my son and I were just throwing the ball to make the goal as we always had. Then the young guy proceeded to tell me he was watching the camera as though we had still done something wrong. I asked him to allow us to finish our game. After the game was over I went to the front desk where there were 3 people and again ask what the issue was. The other young guy at the desk said something about there are censors below the goals or on the goals so we needed to be careful not to damage them = at this point I am upset and confused. Upset that my son and I was disturbed and accused of doing something to damage anything. How are we supposed to know about any censors and why would we not be throwing the ball to make the goal. I asked for owner information and was told the company is Canadian owned. This is teuely discouraging as my son loved this place before. This was so disrespectful and I still have no clue why these 2 young men thought this...
Read moreSuper fun place to go. Was a perfect little activity for us as a family of 3, mixing technology, team building and exercise all into fun.
Extremely short wait times if any at all. If no one is waiting it gives you the option to replay current level or advance to the next level from inside the room your in, and if someone is waiting after your level has ended you’re asked to move to the next game. I really liked that system because it never felt like you were hogging up a certain game by replaying it again since it let you know if someone is waiting.
I didn’t know what to expect being our first time here but we all three had a lot of fun. As someone who has social anxiety, crowded spaces and interactions can sometimes make me uncomfortable and it never felt that way. I also really enjoyed that it was just us privately playing the games together, at no point did you have to play with or compete against another team if you didn’t want to.
We drove about an hour to get here from RRG for something todo with our 9 year old son besides trails and he really enjoyed it. Was honestly shocked how much fun I had playing as well. The unique way they blend technology with physical activities is extremely fun, and gives you more of a workout than you would think.
Honestly just wish they were a little closer to Cincinnati so we could visit...
Read moreActivate games was an absolute blast. I went on a Sunday with my wife and two friends. We were blown away by the width and breadth of activities contained in the facility, and were never at a loss for a fun, engaging new challenge to try. Being first timers, we all wanted to try a little bit of everything, and let me assure you, regardless of your fitness level, there is something foe you at Activate.
My personal favorite was Hide, in which you had to find numbers on the wall and hit corresponding buttons. The wrinkle was the four eyes on the wall, which activated, forcing you and your team to hid behind a pillar. Each level of the game became more intricate, with more eyes activating seemingly at random. It required a good deal of awareness and teamwork to clear each level, as it does in many of the rooms, and each victory lead to a great sense of accomplishment.
Activate games is a wonderful establishment, and I suggest trying as many rooms as you can on your first go, you won't be disappointed with any of them, but you will find at least a few you'll...
