I honestly can't express how accommodating, hospitable and kind this hotel staff was. I'm a Lexington native so it's not often that I'm staying in a hotel in our city. But I was thrilled to see that people visiting my town had the chance for such hospitality here!
I suggest calling the reservation line if the front desk says there aren't rooms. They must not have access to all that the call center does based on my experience booking.
The rooms are nice and many come with a full(ish) kitchen. Large fridge, sink, microwave and a cooktop stove with two burners. They also have cookware and utensils. And a dishwasher. You can choose a suite that has an additional living room space too.
The bed was amazing and so comfortable. Everything was really clean and the ac unit has a remote control which is nice. The desk has a full table underneath. I didn't realize that until I pulled thinking it was just a desk keyboard tray.
The grounds have some pretty areas for lounging outside. The fireplace out front was not working and I was told it hadn't been for a long time. I hope they fix it soon because it would have really enhanced the atmosphere.
The indoor pool was in a heated room, but not sure the water was heated because it was chilly. Nice fitness room and full laundrymat too. A natural gas grill was outside with an area of picnic tables and we enjoyed using that.
The entire time the staff, even seeming short on workers as we see everywhere these days, did their absolute best to assure we got extra pillows, towels and anything else.
Breakfast was continental with a couple warm things but nothing super fancy. For the price of the stay it surpassed expectations regardless.
The one problem we experienced wasn't the hotel staffs fault. Our car was broken into in the back parking lot. My husband forgot his wallet there and someone smashed the window out. There were not cameras, but would it have even helped? Probably not. The man is on camera at McDonald's where he used a credit card and it doesn't help any.
What was phenomenal was the way the staff took this on as their own personal problem and helped us so much. They told us not to worry at all about checking out on time (we still made it out early enough but that was great peace of mind). They gave us credit back on our room which was totally helpful to offset the cash that was stolen. They even had maintenance come help us shop vac the glass out of my car.
Every single staff member was amazing. Stay here and you won't be...
Read moreThe staff was friendly, however that’s the ONLY positive thing that I can say about this hotel. The first room we were assigned to had black mold in the shower and literal poo on the wall behind the toilet. I took a piece of toilet paper, wet it and wiped and this could have been cleaned up as it did smear, however for there to have been that much of it, it hadn’t been cleaned well in a long time. I honestly didn’t check out the room other than this, and immediately went back to the front desk with pictures to show them and was immediately moved to a different room. Unfortunately this room wasn’t much better and I was told it was the only available room. Upon turning the a/c on, dust blew everywhere! The dust and dirt on the lamps and along the baseboards looked like they hadn’t been touched in a year! The shower was dirty, although not as bad as the first room. The toilet leaked from the supply line and the exhaust vent looked as if it’s never been cleaned. I was very disappointed and honestly shocked that a Marriott brand would be this unkept. I’ve seen all of the positive reviews and all I can say is that these people must have not been in room 121 or 309. Honestly 99% of fueling station restrooms are cleaner than the ones in the rooms we were given. We were in Lexington to watch my 4 week old grandson and they did bring me a port-a-crib that was excellent, however I really wished that I would’ve went anywhere else! Initially I had “pre-paid” for Friday night and we were asked to keep him another day, so my husband spoke with someone at the front desk and got the room for Saturday night before I was aware that he was going to. I had already cleaned the items in the room that I could, but I still would have rather went almost anywhere else! Friday night pretty late I had to go out to the vehicle for an item and encountered a man asleep on the patio beside the fireplace. I’m assuming that he was homeless and sleeping there for warmth, however that was startling to see. I planned on alerting someone at the front desk when I went back in but there was no one there to do so. For the price paid per night there, I would definitely recommend going ANYWHERE else! As you can tell by the pictures it definitely needs to be completely...
Read moreI'm very happy with our stay. I was traveling with my Dad, a cancer survivor, and needed a room with two bathrooms. Unfortunately, TownePlace Suites does not have rooms with two bathrooms. Lucky for me, I got Josh, the general manager, who answered my phone call. Josh checked if two rooms with an adjoining door were available and they were, so Josh booked those rooms for us. It's very hard for my Dad to travel anymore, he doesn't feel comfortable leaving the house -- ever. So for us to be able to travel from Northwest Ohio, down to Lexington, tour Darley on Friday and Taylor Made on Saturday, while giving my Dad the comforts of home, were big. I can't thank Josh enough for going the extra mile. We were suppose to stay two nights, but since my Dad had not been feeling well all week prior, we shortened to just an over night stay.
The rooms were very comfortable. My Dad took the two queen studio and I got the one king bedroom. We both had everything we needed; the kitchens were fully stocked for his meals, the bathrooms were clean with big towels, the living area was comfortable as were the beds. Personally, for me, my bed was too soft and my pillows too. I hate hotel pillows, so I just need to travel with my own. Putting two soft pillows together, for me, is not helpful. But that is a personal preference.
Our only ding was the breakfast. Neither of us were a fan. The waffle maker didn't seem to cook the waffle all the way through and the oatmeal were the only hot items outside of making toast or a bagel. There was fruit, hard boiled eggs, cereal, and muffins. So if you want more, take advantage of the kitchen in your room. I would definitely stay here again. I just love the Hamburg area in Lexington, plenty of places to eat and shop, and super close to the expressway. This area is my number one place to stay and I've stayed at the Hyatt Place, Homewood Suites and Residence Inn; all in the area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at TownePlace Suites again. And I'm sure I'll be back before the...
