Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center — Attraction in Lexington

We pre booked tickets for a valentines show last night. It was a string quartet playing Taylor Swift - my wife really wanted to see it. So we arrive 15 minutes early. Wait in line then get in right at showtime. Buy a drink and make our way to the seats. 30 minutes pass and nothing. Then a guy comes on stage and says due to unforeseen circumstances the band couldn’t make it and show is canceled. So everyone leaves.

They emailed a voucher. I would like a refund. It will be a long long time before I consider going back to the lyric and will not recommend it. Unprofessional. I wouldn’t be as upset had they not wasted an hour of our evening. I feel like they already knew the band wasn’t going to show they just wanted to get peoples money from...

Booked tickets for the candlelight valentine day show only to find out after an hour of sitting there that the band wasn’t even in the building. Like you didn’t know the band wasn’t there. come on, you could have cancelled the show before making everyone wait on Valentine’s Day. Very poor management. On top of that even though we were promised to get refunds, this has been an incredibly difficult process and I will probably have to file a complaint with Visa for us to get anything back at all. We paid almost $100 for our tickets. Extremely disappointed at how the situation was handled, would not recommend this place to anyone.

I’m not one to leave a bad review, truly. But unfortunately, my experience was not great. Now, the staff is completely fine, and I have nothing negative to say about them. However, we made plans for the Valentine day concert this year, took off work early, drove two hours, arrived early, sat in the room for over an hour, for them to announce right at 7:00 pm that the concert was not happening. I do understand that things happen (and I hope with whatever happened that everyone is safe and healthy), but it truly feels like they only kept it open to sell concessions.
