Teak Closeouts — Attraction in Lexington

Have purchased from them in the past without a problem. This time the bench arrived with a broken seat support. Attempted to call customer support - got a message that in an effort to save money they no longer offer customer support - send us an e-mail. Did that - took pictures of the damage and sent them a request to return the broken bench the same day that I received it from FedEx. No answer - sent another e-mail 2 days later and attached the photos again. Each message received an automated reply stating that someone would be in touch shortly - usually within 2 days. Still no reply. It has now been 4 days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Will not do business with them again. They were great when all was fine - absolutely horrible customer service when there is a problem. Avoid this merchant. I fear that I am out the $289.00.

UPDATE: (December 3rd 2018) Just read the owners reply. Still do not understand what would be so difficult in sending an email response explaining the process and delay on the day of the initial email identifying receipt of the damaged bench. Seems like he would have a form e-mail addressing this very issue. He did refund my money but then banned me from any further purchases because I left a negative review. After extensively searching for quality, affordable teak, we landed on Teak Closeouts website and were pleasantly surprised at the large selection and (very) reasonable prices.

We ordered our bench and were a little concerned about the shipping and delivery after a certain delivery company had delivered and dumped a few large items (thereby destroying them). We closely monitored the tracking information and had our hand truck ready when FedEx arrived. My husband assisted the driver and we brought the box onto our driveway and started opening and unloading the pieces. We were delighted as to the well-packed and insulated manner that our bench pieces were prepared.

The instructions were easy to read and understand and we had our beautiful bench assembled in about 15 minutes!

I received my Lutyens bench today from FedEx freight and it was wrapped and packaged very well. The quality of the bench is exceptional. It is very sturdy, has a nice weight, and is very well made. The price was also attractive when comparing to similar items at other teak dealers. I did quite a bit of comparison shopping and thought Teak Closeouts had the best offer. The bench also has nice lines and proportions. I also called to inquire about my tracking number and the representative at Teak Closeouts was very friendly and glad to help.
