The Boundary Ballroom — Attraction in Leyden Township

I had my wedding there 10/8 and if I could give a negative star I would. I spend a year and a half planning my wedding for this venue to completely ruin my day... FIRST I was told since booking with the venue that for the cocktail hour, the appetizers would be walked around via "butler style". They were not, they were brought out and placed on one side of the room the other side of the room had no idea they were brought out. The red and white wine that was supposed to be placed on the tables were NEVER brought out that was paid for part of the package. I had a table of family asking MULTIPLE times if they can get their bread and butter after 30 minutes of everyone else getting bread plus they were not getting their water after asking multiple times as well. Once the salad came out we had tables with no dressing, some people didn't even get a salad after telling their waiter they are still waiting on it. We were told by the bartender that they had no "Miller lite" after picking that beer selection, we had guest going to the hotel bar and paying for it.. Our food was supposed to be served at 6pm. The only people who got their food was the head table while the rest of the guest was still waiting. The guest food didn't actually make it to the guest until just about 8pm almost TWO HOURS later. I was told the plates were being plated but when the guest got their plates EVERYTHING was cold. I was also told someone would be setting up the place cards on the table for the guest and they made my fiancée set them up the morning of. As well as we asked if they would place the party favors on each table, they agreed to it and had no problem. Then find out my fiancée that morning had to place them on each plate.

When explaining my frustration to the manager, it seemed like he could careless or as if he didn't understand a word I was saying. I hope they can get their act together and this will never happen to another bride on her...

My husband and I planned our entire wedding ourselves and having an all inclusive venue was perfect for us. Elena made the process easy and was very helpful with any questions we had. Lauren helped us set up a room block for our out of town guests and was so nice. Tony the manager was attentive throughout the night of our wedding and super accommodating. The only negative we could think of was that the waitstaff could have done better at serving and clearing tables. We had color coded place cards that showed which meal each guest got. The color codes were requested from us and communicated early and in the contract, yet the staff still asked each person what they got, which caused some people to change their option because we had some people who didn't get what they wanted. It wasn't that big of a deal to us or our guests though, because both dinner options were tasty. The waitstaff were very kind and still served our guests that arrived well after dinner service. All the food from the appetizers, to the dinner entrée, and desserts was SO good. The bar service was amazing and the bartender made sure my husband and I had a drink in our hand at all times. I don't think I waited in line at all. Actually, the bartender would meet us half way when he saw us heading to the bar and hand us our drinks haha! I would recommend this venue and hotel to anyone looking for an affordable all...

We hosted our wedding earlier this month at the Boundary Ballroom and could not say enough great things about this place! From the beginning, Elena was a delight to work with and helped us as we planned our wedding while living across the country. She was so kind, responsive, and made sure no detail was missed. There are a variety of packages offered and the ability to customize your choices. From our tasting to the event, the food was phenomenal, from appetizers to our late night snack of mini Chicago style hot dogs! During the event, every single staff member of the ballroom, hotel, and Pizzeria Uno went above and beyond in accommodating us and our guests throughout the night. John, our bartender for the night, was friendly and quick to keep the bar running smoothly. Tony was attentive to detail and made sure we took the time to sit and eat and ensure that we were happy and having a great time during our big day.
