I started working at this kitchen about ten years ago, always on Tuesday nights after my other job. Back then it wasn’t easy. I was juggling two jobs, one at a bank and this one just for me, chasing a dream that felt too far away. I always wanted my own business but it seemed impossible with how expensive everything was. I told the owner I couldn’t afford the higher rents at other shared kitchens even though they were closer to where I lived. So I picked this one even though it meant a thirty minute drive each way and she gave me a reduced rate at the time when I needed it. When we later moved to Park Ridge suddenly it was only twelve minutes away and it felt like life gave me a little gift. Now after all these years I’ve built my own business and I’m moving the first week of November to Tennessee. I work in industrial grade cake decoration creating pieces from custom molds and I’ve even started working with big clients in Nashville. Still this kitchen will always be where it all started.
