Fantastic little hidden gem. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and had the place to ourselves. It's a tiny, unassuming space, immaculately clean. Service was great, with a sweet older gentleman attending to us. We had some language barrier issues while ordering, but another employee assisted to ensure clarity.
I had the pineapple cashew shrimp with pad thai noodles instead of rice, and the crab and cream cheese rolls. Generous amount of shrimp in the entree, and a delicious blend of sweetness and spice. Crab rolls were creamy and well-seasoned, with a crispy, flaky wrap. My partner had pad see eiw with tofu, which was savory and tender, and the spicy avocado rolls, which are a neat fusion take on spring rolls. Our substitutions and dietary restrictions were followed accurately. Also had a couple of nicely strong cocktails, which was a pleasant surprise.
We were thrilled to get such great food and drinks and stellar service, all at very reasonable cost. Liked everything so much we grabbed a couple dishes to take home.
It's exciting to discover a new up-and-coming joint like this and get in early while they're working hard to build a good reputation. Definitely recommend. We've told friends and we'll...
Read moreWell I am a Thai food and Korean food connoisseur. I stopped at this restaurant because of the high reviews. Here is my honest reflection. We ordered chicken pad Thai because it was one of the few dishes that was gluten free. I would give it 3.5 out of 5. It’s not the traditional style, it little on the wet side and it came with black pepper sprinkled on top, odd? I also ordered beef Pho, I have eaten at well over 15 pho places around the country. The broth was flavorless and tasted ok 3 out of 5. I ordered the Korean beef tacos, those had bit more flavor solid 3.75. I am Korean and it wasn’t the correct flavor for my taste.
If you are a basic American and not had truly authentic Thai or Vietnamese food, you will enjoy it. However because they are trying to do the “Asian fusion” thing. Nothing I had really impressed me.
So my guess is most of the reviews and 5 stars came from people with basic taste palate? I am not criticizing, I am just giving my personal reflection on the high reviews.
Place is small but clean, person serving was very sweet.
So if you are looking for basic Asian food and a reasonable price, it’s a good option. If you truly want authentic flavor, this is not the...
Read moreThis place was a delightful surprise! I was picking people up at the airport and we had some time so we stopped in here and got pad Thai and it was exceptionally tasty! I have eaten thousands of pad Thais and most places are too sweet, too bland, too dry but I was a fan of this one. The noodles are a bit wider so not standard but I loved the flavor! The green curry was also good! The small plate Korean tacos at first looked a bit small and I think there could be more meat or other veg but I loved all the greens and the sauces and the meat was SO flavorful! I will definitely be returning when I have o’hare pickups. The staff was friendly. I had some questions about gluten free and the older gentleman could not answer them. The gluten free menu is a bit limited so if you have restrictions know there are like 3 options but they were great! I ended up having a miscommunication and ordered two pad Thais and honestly it was so good I was glad to...
