While visiting Nebraska, my family was fortunate enough to stumble upon Robber's Cave. Being slightly disappointed with some of the places we had visited that day, my family was in search of something memorable, special, unique. Interestingly enough, my 10-year-old daughter was exploring things to do and happened upon Robber's Cave. Immediately intrigued with her find, I purused the site. I was not sure what to expect when I read that tours needed to be scheduled in advance, but thought I would take a chance. I am beyond thrilled that I did! We were extremely favored in being able to schedule a tour that evening with Joel Green. Impressed with the beautiful venue from the start, we waited with great anticipation for our tour to commence. At the scheduled time, we were warmly greeted by Joel Green himself and taken in for the tour. It was exceptionally amazing and a true find! The rich and interesting history combined with Joel's knowledge and passion, sprinkled with the intrigue and mystery of it all, cannot be compared. Special thanks and immense gratitude to the incomparable Joel Green for his hard work and dedication to deliver this stellar gem from obscurity to the recognition and acknowledgement of the treasured piece of history that it is. Do not miss this unparalleled opportunity to experience the best...

The experience is well worth the trip and time. Joel is very knowledgeable and entertaining, and the caves themselves are filled with history. The stories are quite interesting, and one of the most impressive elements is standing in a section of the cave, seeing it with your own eyes, and looking at a picture of the same exact spot from 50-100 years ago. It makes the experience relatable in a way that most cave crawls cannot. The "graffiti" (things etched into the sand with fingers/etc.) is actually more of an attraction than a detraction, in that it fills the view with the wonder of years. One, barely legible at this point, is signed with a date in the 1800's. We purchased Joel's book, but haven't read it yet--though looking forward to doing so. It is filled with pictures and stories surrounding the history of the Robber's Cave. Joel was quick to respond to questions in email, easy to arrange a tour time, and quite friendly. The tour is not long, the cave easy to traverse, we didn't need a jacket, and pictures are both welcomed and encouraged. This isn't a "cave crawl" so much as a journey through recent history "in a cave," but I still recommend it to those looking to wander a cave. This tour touches a little of both in a way that your typical...

This was the highlight of our family trip over Thanksgiving weekend. The cave tour (led by Joel) was amazingly fun and informative, packed with historical factoids that stretch back numerous decades, some of which are truly intriguing. The stories reach back as far as the cave itself, and the generous one hour guided tour was a great mix of easy adventure and local tales. The stories that stem from the cave, with its many carvings etched into the soft sandstone walls, serve as artifacts, where the stamp of many have been placed upon the cave walls over the years, creating less of a spelunking outing and more of a mixed narrative. Joel the tour guide is truly passionate about the site and its history, and was a great source of knowledge and an exciting yet easy-going host. The facility itself is newly renovated and it's always great to begin a cave tour with a beverage at the bar, where local beers are available. In sum, a really great find and highly recommended to locals and out of...

We have traveled around the world and have been with the best tour guides and seen the best sights. Joel Green and the Robber’s Cave Tour can be put right up with the best of the best. Joel has a way of mixing facts with stories and, coupled with his warmth and kindness, this is a delightful visit for the listener. Joel could not be more passionate about his subject matter and pass that on to those that have the fortunate opportunity to hear him. We can hardly wait to bring back friends and family…in the meantime you can be sure we will be telling people what a gem of a place there is in Lincoln…not to be missed but to be driven out of the way for if necessary. Thank you for a surprise of an evening, Joel. You make teaching look easy and we all know a real teacher is a gift to the world.

This was an extremely unique and fascinating cave tour. The cave is very well-maintained and preserved. It has an eclectic and exciting history that was brought to life in our imaginations during the tour by the wonderful tour guide, Joel. (He is also the author of a wonderful book about the cave.) The space has truly been used for just about everything through the years. The dry, sandy composition of the cave was especially unusual and interesting, since it preserved the writing and drawing scratched into the walls as if it were done yesterday. When you step back out of the cave, you feel a bit like you need to regain your bearings in space and time. It is totally worth your time. They also have a lovely and spacious event space above ground.
