What a dump! If I could give negative starts I would have. We were in a bit of bind and needed a room for a night. Having a budget, the 200.00+ room was not an option. We booked our room here and boy did we regret it!! Let's start with the bathroom. The toilet had mold in it, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The toilet was NOT attached to the floor, so when you sat down it wobbled. The bathroom door had NO door knob! Apparently, the bathroom door was new and the knob was on order. 2 adults staying and only one set of towels was provided. No closet, no luggage rack, no hair dryer. The TV was not hooked up. The Direct TV box was hanging on the wall, but all the cords were on the desk. Had to go to the front desk to have someone come up and hook up the TV. When I got to the lobby there was no one insight. I rang the bell three times (waiting approx. 5 minutes) and still no one came to assist me. As I was walking back to my room, I heard an "employee only" door open and the clerk stepped out. The room had a desk, but only one office chair, no table or other chairs. No spot to eat. When I told my family we stayed at a Travelodge, my sister said "no, no, no, never stay at a Travelodge". She was right! Had we not been so tired after driving almost 8 hours, We would have slept in the car. I left feeling like I needed 10 more showers to not feel gross after staying here. I can't believe the staff thought it was okay to allow guests to stay in a room like this. The old saying of "you get what you pay for" really is true. Especially...
Read moreRooms are what you would expect for the price. They aren't the best, but they are liveable. If you have higher standards, then you should probably go to a different hotel.
You get the basics: There's a bed, a dresser, a nightstand, mini fridge, microwave, a desk and chair with a TV. The showers and sink are clean, but dated. Breakfast is nothing to talk about. You have basic survival food like granola bars, oatmeal and cereal. They have a kuerig coffee machine with cheap coffee.
As with all budget friendly hotels, you will get a weird smell in the room. This can be somewhat masked by turning on the AC (window/wall unit).
The best aspect of this hotel is the walkability. There is an older neighborhood close by with a park and rec center a little unde a mile away. There is a Family Dollar about 0.2 mes away where you can get basic essentials. You have a Mexican restaurant, a Long John Silvers and a McDonalds just steps away. If you cross the street, you will find a hibachi/sushi restaurant. There are also a few local bars nearby if you are looking for a watering hole. There are also coffee shops just within 1 mile away. So walking around will definitely get you some steps in for the day if you enjoy exercise. The area is very safe (just lower income by appearance).
In spite of any flaws, I would say this hotel is a hidden gem just because you have a lot of restaurants, stores and a neighborhood to...
Read moreBefore this hotel stay, I had only been to Lincoln one time before and this trip was my first overnight. I made a same-day reservation as a walk-in and was extremely impressed by the customer service. The Front Desk employee was extremely social and made great conversation during the check-in process.
During the process, a man who was hearing impaired came in needing assistance. I was impressed with how well the employee communicated with this man and was able to accommodate and assist him. After the man left, the employee told me that he wished he could have done more to communicate with him and that he really wanted to learn ASL for those types of situations. Even though I thought the employee did an excellent job assisting the man, he sincerely wished he had done better.
Everything about the stay was nice. I really enjoyed the view from my room. Since I'm not from Nebraska, grain buildings are a new and interesting sight! The room was pleasant and the bed was comfortable. I slept very well. The complimentary breakfast was simple but decent. For the price, the stay exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be staying here again for...
