All prices are marked up to the maximum, for example they'll sell a Crown Zenith figure collection for 20 dollars over what you can buy on the pokemon website, 30 dollars over Amazon, etc. This doesn't just transfer to collections, ETBs are marked up and so are packs. Most gamestops will do a price match system, so if you price match a main brand competitor such as Walmart, and Walmart themselves are shipping, they will match that price. This gamestop you can price match everything except pokemon cards. Though they may not be the only Gamestop that does this, there are plenty of Gamestops that do, and it is definitely worth the 20 minute commute to save potentially hundreds of dollars over the longrun

I also get weird vibes from some of the employees, naturally gamestop people push preorders and what not, but sometimes the older gentleman is a little but too much. He also has a habit of pushing things he doesn't really understand, such as with the Scarlet and Violet pre order saying how amazing the pre order bonus was (i believe a few dozen pokeballs , basic potions, and like 10 revives), though anyone whos played the games would know that it really isnt a bonus worth mentioning.

Every time I come to this particular GameStop, they always have some other thing that wasn’t mentioned on the website I tried to sell my PlayStation five the store opened at 10 o’clock. I was there at 10:30 and the guy tells me that I have to come back at 1 o’clock because he doesn’t have anybody here to test the system. I said you’re here he said yeah but if I gotta test the system and customers are coming in and out I can’t you know do two things at once I said nobody’s here and there’s literally nobody here right now it’s 1030 and nobody’s here so pretty much he told me that I could come back at 1 o’clock or go to another GameStop I’m tired of GameStop all around. I’ll be happy when you guys just close your doors! And I’ve been a long time GameStop fan before they even called GameStop. I think they were called electronics boutique EB games. I think I’m honestly done with them...

Tom “the store lead” and his equally incompetent “district manager” are why game stops are going out of business. To say they have aweful customer service skills is an understatement. When your employees are in such a deep power trip that a simple return with a receipt can’t be processed you know why this business model and the employees are failing. In the end I do my return somewhere else and loose nothing while the corporation and all the employees in it continue to hate their jobs and hemorrhage money. Save yourself the money and headache people, after all everything in there is over priced anyways. Go to Walmart or target. Worst case scenario do Amazon.
