I'll let the facts speak for themselves. No editorializing
I bring Mike from EOC Audio to my music room. Therein, I show him my Fender Twin Reverb amplifier and electric guitars. I tell him I need speakers loud enough to compete with my guitar playing-the idea being that i will play backing tracks through the spakers and electric guitar through my fender amp. I let him know that after 7 years, my prior speakers have blown out and I want something more powerful. Secondarily, i wanted something that would sound better. I had a 5k budget. Mike said that was a solid budget and they would get back to me with a design'proposal.
He sends me a proposal well north of my budget (already annoying). We worked it down to roughly 6k-1K above the budget I gave him.
The speakers were installed at the end of September 2024.
Soon after installation, I asked if we could put the bookshelves in a taller stand as I stand when I play guitar and the stand they selected assumes that I sit. He said he would talk to the vendor and get back to me on September 30th. He never got back to me on this issue. I let it go.
The new speakers blew out in about 3 months. I acknowledge I was playing them too loud. Like my last speakers, they needed to be played too loud to keep up with my amp. Unlike my last speakers, these did not last 7 years. But they did cost about 4k More.
I complained to Mike, acknowledging that I played too loud, but insistent that these were not the correct products for me to begin with and that EOC audio should acknowledge and take responsbility for that. Mike argued with me back and forth refusing to take any responsbility.
I then threatened litigation.
Mike came over with an audio technitian in January 2025. Within about 5 seconds of observing my room, the technitian confirmed that the speakers they sold to me were not intended to compete with my setup.
I suggested they give me replacement speakers and we use those in the movie theater area and use my huge tower speakers in the music room. They said I should expect the speakers in early to mid February.
Mike texts me on April 8 that he's got some new speakers for me. He said he can drop them off and install them in a week and a half himself or he can hold onto them for now and schedule me with his tech in 3 weeks. I asked to drop them off and i'd look tos ee if someone else could install but to assume that I'll need him if need be in a week and a half. He agrees.
Mike goes silent. I text him on April 24th indciating that it had been a couple weeks and asking if he could come by the next day/Friday to install before the weekend.
I hear nothing. I text Mike on April 29 (now 3 weeks since he stated 1.5 weeks) telling him that it has been 3 weeks now.
Mike texts me on April 30th saying he "might" have time the next mnorning to install.
I state I'd like it done EOD or will file suit.
No response. Debating the pros and cons of filing now.
EDIT. Shortly after I posted this review, they installed the new speakers. The owner called me a moment ago asking me to take down the negative review. I asked why. It's all true. He said because this issue was outside of their control. I explained that lack of accountability is the primary issue I have and that I would be keeping the review up. Ultimately, there is no editorializing here. It's just the timeline of events . You, the prospective customary, can make up your own mind as to whether or not the 1 star is justified based on...
Read moreEOC Audio has been one of the best companies I have worked with, and continue to work with on a regular basis. Through my experiences, I have learned that hiring someone to design, install, program, and manage a home automation system is a lot different than hiring a contractor to remodel a kitchen. When you remodel a kitchen the relationship typically ends after the project is over. With a home automation system, however, the relationship with your contractor just starts when the project is complete. I would describe working with a home automation contractor as more of a long term partnership, rather than a single event. So selecting the right company is extremely important.
Not only was EOC Audio (most notably Ben McIntyre and Randy Herman) great to work with during the design and install process of my home automation project, but also they have been extremely easy to work with when it comes to maintenance and management of my system. Sometimes stuff just doesn't work right or a device fails for no reason (and typically this is no fault of EOCs). Its during those moments when you really learn the true integrity of a company. I believe one of EOC's best qualities is how well they handle those undesirable situations. They truly put the customer first and do everything they can to fix/improve the situation, including working in the evening or over weekends when necessary.
I give EOC an A+ and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a true...
Read moreI contracted with EOC for the first time to install 8 cameras around the outside of my house including one Ring camera. My biggest concern with the installation, no matter who was contracted to perform it, was that it is an existing home, which means they will have to fish lines though existing walls. I was worried about how the team would fish the wires and what type of drywall cutting/damage would occur. On the morning of the initial installation day, EOC brought what seemed like the management and the team to discuss the solidify a plan. At least 4 highly trained individuals remained for the installation. It was impressive to watch the analysis of each wall that needed a wire to be fished through and how the entire system would be connected. They not only discussed it amongst themselves, but they also listened to my concerns and suggestions.
The knowledge they had was impressive. The care they took was impressive. I questioned them on a couple other items on my home while they were working. In the end, I had them upgrade my internet throughout the house and then return to install a new Frame TV. All the work was done professionally, politely, respectfully, and timely.
They have earned my trust...
