This is the first time I’ve ever called a business for a refund or left a negative review, but my experience here was deeply disappointing. I placed an order for three Philly cheesesteak subs, but when I got home, I discovered I had been given three steak sandos instead. We decided to try them, but to be honest, they were some of the worst sandwiches I’ve ever had—dry, unflavorful, and completely unappetizing.
Given the price of the food and the fact that we couldn’t eat it, I reached out to the business to request a refund. Unfortunately, this interaction is what prompted me to write this review. The way I was treated as a dissatisfied customer was unacceptable. When I called, one of the store owners dismissed my concerns, saying that my opinion was “an outlier” and that he wasn’t going to consider the feedback of “three friends.” Throughout the call, he laughed at times, spoke in a condescending manner, and even blamed us for not checking the screen or receipt to ensure the order was correct.
To the store owner who handled my call: This is not how you treat a dissatisfied customer. I understand mistakes happen, and perhaps this was your first time dealing with a situation like this, but it’s important to take responsibility when your business makes an error. I was respectful during the call and didn’t want to leave a review, but your dismissive and unprofessional response left me no choice.
For clarity, the sandwiches we received were dry, unflavorful, and hard to eat. The incorrect order led to wasted food, which I hate to do. The situation should have been handled with an apology, a full refund, and even just a more understanding tone. Instead, I felt blamed and disrespected. Mistakes happen, but how you respond to them defines your business. Open-mindedness and willingness to accept feedback—especially from so-called “outliers”—are crucial for growth.
Had I received the correct order, my opinion might have been entirely different. However, because of the poor treatment I experienced, I won’t be returning. I sincerely hope others have a better experience, and that this serves as a learning opportunity for the business on how to handle customer complaints with respect and...
Read moreMy honest review as a paying customer. I ordered the classic chicken parmesan sub with the seasoned fries.
Food: The taste of the food was good but I was expecting more considering the premium prices of the sandwiches. My chicken parm sub was $12.99. The overall sandwich was on the smaller side. They cut a chicken cutlet in half to fit inside the smaller roll. I would have expected to pay no more than $10 for such a sandwich. There definitely wasn't enough marinara sauce on the entire sandwich and it was not spread evenly. Half the sandwich was drrryyyyy. What they could do to improve: get a wider roll, do not cut the cutlet in half and put more sauce on; it would elevate the eating experience of the sandwich. Fries were fine, your typical coated fries with black pepper seasoning.
Service: Disappointed that we did not get the side garlic aioli sauce that we were promised. I was looking forward to trying it. The cashier seemed like he struggled to take the order properly. Wait time was reasonable at around 5 pm on the first day (10-15 minutes).
Environment: Space was packed! You would literally have to take your order to go.
Prices: It's expensive for a sub shop and they know Muslims will flock to it because it's Halal. I mean, $23.99 for a steak sandwich? That's WILD.
Overall, I hope they improve the service and quality of how their sandwiches are served. Bigger portions...
Read moreWe were looking forward to trying Sub KO for the first time and we were all left really disappointed. We ordered multiple subs and the KO fries. I’m not sure if the quality of the food is low or just poorly prepared. All the subs we tried either lacked proper seasoning or didn’t taste like good quality ingredients. The parm sandwich lacked seasoning, barely much cheese or sauce. The Philly KO didn’t have much flavor and lacked the proper amount of topping. The meatball sub was probably the lowest of the 3 in terms of quality and taste. The marinara in the sandwich tasted like ketchup and tomato paste with how sweet it was. The rolls that they use for the sandwiches are also not a good choice at all. Lacked flavor and had a chewy texture. It’s basically a slim version of Subway white bread. The KO fries just tasted like unseasoned meat topped with mayo with low quality fries.. Would not recommended any of these items as they are. There were 3 of us and we couldn’t even finish half of the food. The prices do not reflect the quality whatsoever. With the prices being charged, they need to increase the food quality asap if they are looking to serve restaurant standard food. As a new halal spot in the area, hopefully they can make the necessary changes to the quality of ingredients and how the food...
