Yes there is a post office but it's a small sub office with weird hours at times the bakery is gone, a hot dog restaurant that is good yet over priced, a Mexican food type restaurant that appears very dirty, Indian food is wonderful and the diner around on the North side is better than most!! A few shops have left but a new laundry mat moved in that's Awesome! ALL brand new machines and very nice ppl always upbeat and friendly. The Dollar Store is always in disarray, employees changing constantly and the store is not clean. Nice Consignment store kept clean and they can be friendly at times. Tiny liquor store but the owner is very nice and he has a nice variety of liquor for the small space, and will find something for you if he doesn't have it there. And also delivers to some of the home bound residents in the area. On September 3rd they will be opening a large ARC store to replace the Savers that recently closed. All in all its a good place it just needs some work. An outside paint job wasn't enough to perk it up. The veterinary office was a bit over priced and an Cray will turn to 2 or 3 if you aren't careful. Nice friendly staff, poodle parlor does exceptional work and are great with the animals but at times depend on who is there can be a bit unfriendly. Small craft shop left, a paint store that serves coffee and tea lol, I can't review the yoga studio etc....
Read moreReasonable prices. The best humus I have eaten in a deli setting - it is incredibly creamy with good flavor. Employees are very helpful and friendly. My understanding is that fresh organic produce arrives on Thursdays. There are lots of great cold beverage choices... lots of variety. The staff can recommend customer favorites for you to try if you are uncertain of what to experiment with buying...it is an international grocery store. I want to attend some of their community events to learn new cooking skills and experience connection with other folks from the community. The store is exceedingly clean. The bathroom is always clean. Staff are well groomed. I love their pita bread in the deli...it is exceptionally delicious when eaten on the day it is made fresh and delivered. I wish I knew when it was delivered fresh so I could intentionally stop in and buy it fresh. They have a nice menu in the deli. I hope to try that out soon. There is a clean outdoor seating area in the front of the store where customers can eat. I have done that - bought humus and pita - rather than going to a fast food drive thru for a lunch or snack. I would definitely suggest you give them a try. The whole vibe and energy is that the owners are trying to build a strong local business that is community...
Read moreFirst off, this is NOT the same store as it was years ago! The current owners have been there for just a few months. I popped in out of curiosity after going to another shop I frequent. I'd assumed it was still the sketchy place it was before since it has the same name, but the customers walking out were definitely not druggies and bums. I was pleasantly surprised!!!
They have all kinds of goods from Europe and the Middle East (even found my fave Italian triple concentrate tomato paste) as well as plenty of normal grocery items and a small but decent selection of fresh vegetables. There's a small meat counter, a full kitchen and a few tables in the back. They serve an array of middle eastern food like wraps and kabobs. We got lunch and it was yummy!!!
A well-heeled lady customer remarked it was more like the Nordstrom's of ethnic grocery stores compared to the others around town. It's like a cross between Trader Joe's, Cost Plus and Arash Market, if you know it. She said it reminded her of ethnic markets in NYC.
I'm psyched it's on this end of town and we don't have to make the trek to Aurora for a lot of things now....
