Clements Circle Splash Park — Attraction in Livonia

If I could report this and give 0 stars I would. I have been coming to this pool for 10 years. Pablo the life guard took what use to be a great experience and made it a horrible one.He needs sensitivity training and they need a supervisor with more maturity and not on a power trip. first of all the website said they opened up at 11 am and the building has a sign that says 12 so about 30/40 people were waiting outside for over an hour on this 95 degree day. As usual the first couple people went to put their belongings down to save their seat while someone else from their group was on line paying . Once I saw that 5 people saved their seats before paying or having a wrist band on that’s what I did. Pablo came over to me as I was walking back to the line to meet my mother passing a few other people who had done just put down their belongs. He singled me out for whatever reason at said I didn’t pay needed a wrist band I couldn’t set my bag down. the bag I sat down was mothers I had already went and sat mine down a few mins before. After and exchange of words in my attempt to explain that my mother was 3/4 person in line and why didn’t you say anything to anyone else. He then grabbed my bag and took it from the seat I placed it at and placed against the wall by the line. Let me remind you as he was walking with my bag he passed 3 other bags on seats. He then obnoxiously yelled to the line that we couldn’t do that. He never removed anyone else’s belongings or confronted anyone else. Pablo needs to be fired a person with no customer service skills has no business working with the public or in any family oriented environment at that. my mother was the 3/4 person in line when doors opened and had been as all this was happening. She had paid but was waiting for them to hand her the wrist band. my 2 year old son held my hand as this young man threatened me was disrespectful and called the police for trespassing as if I had done something so wrong. He was completely disrespectful and jumped straight to the police unwarranted! I’m surprised livonia pools would have someone like this in charge of anything. I’m biracial and would hate think this was the reason Pablo treated...

The playground equipment was recently replaced and, unfortunately, the new equipment falls far short of what was previously there. The new smaller structures are fine (a swingset, toddler area, and spinning ride), however the large structure is nothing more than three steep slides that share a single staircase. It lacks the many diverse experiences that the previous equipment had such as monkey bars, varied climbing features, bridges, hang out areas, a zip line, an imaginative pirate ship, dual slides, tic-tac-toe, music making, and more. I've spent the last 4 years visiting this park with my daughter but our first visit after the new playground opened marked the only time she wanted to leave almost immediately after arrival. The new structure is lacking not only in activities for the children to do, but also in aides for their imaginations. The large slide tower, because of it's enclosed structure, is also largely inaccessible to most adults. This makes it difficult to aid children at the summit, and to clean vandalism at the top, of which there is already some. Hopefully we can see additional structures in the future to replace some of the lost features, although it would have been easier and cheaper to simply have left...

I was at Clements yesterday and not very happy with some things that occurred. Besides having to close the big pool due to glass/googles breaking ok...But to have 175 plus in a small pool, not safe. Then to have many people leave and not refund money for many families/kids that use that big pool, was not good business. BUT you kept taking money and thought that was appropriate, even though there was only one kiddie pool.

I got there at 1p.m. and to stand in line for an hour and residents with recreational cards could move up. This needs to be reorganized to accommodate this issue. Only having 2 laptops need to be placed somewhere else instead of that narrow tunnel. Many of these issues need to be addressed to utilize this pool for everyone. A lot of parents voiced their concern while we were all standing in line.
