Imagine walking into a place with high expectations, and the place far exceeds those expectations, being three times better than you expected. The exact opposite happens for this pathetic excuse of a “waterpark.” You look this place up, see the facility, and you grow really high expectations. It makes sense to have high expectations for such a place, correct? I mean, look at all these sections of this “wonderful” pool. Surely with all these exciting elements, it would be a fun experience. Then you say to some people you know, “let’s go to this pool in Lombard! It seems like a really good time!” So then you walk into this place the next day, and nothing changes. It still looks really fun! You see the water slides and high dive and all the cool equipment. Then, the moment you get in, you start to notice how much of an illusion all this fancy equipment was. All that colorful equipment is just a facade for the horrendous facility that is the reality of Paradise Bay Water Park. I believe that when the owner of this business was dreaming up his idea, he envisioned a place with smiling children and happy families, making memories. If the owner could see what has become of his dream, he would break down in tears. He would see the authoritative lifeguards, their lives so sad they spend their days yelling at children over the most unnecessary and irrelevant rules possible. The entire purpose of a lifeguard job is to ensure the safety of children and enhance their experience by doing so. Instead of enforcing rules that make sense that are clearly designed to prevent an unsafe environment, the only rules these “lifeguards” enforce make utterly no sense and just ruin the experience for all customers. I would compare this pool to a prison. Just as the prisoners try to make the best of their sentence and play basketball on the prison court and try to have fun in a place with such a negative connotation, it is impossible to have fun in prison because you always feel the constant, unwavering, menacing stares of the authoritative guards. Many prison guards have been known to beat prisoners up for fun, just because they can, just so they can feel what it’s like to have power over someone. They abuse their power instead of actually ensuring the security the prison. Just like the prisoners, all the customers of this pool can never truly have fun. They can never make fun memories, because they can’t do anything but sit there in the pool without getting badgered around and unnecessarily screamed at by these miserable lifeguards. One would think that in such a big pool, they wouldn’t have time to enforce such stupid rules. They would be focused on prioritizing the well being of their customers. Well that doesn’t happen here. Nothing happens here. Customers just sit in the pool doing nothing exciting. To conclude, I have lost all faith in humanity because of the staff at this pool. Let children be children and let everyone else relax instead of hounding them over something irrelevant. I wish I could give negative stars, because a 1-star review is extremely generous for such a miserable, disgustingly evil, dismal, and dull facility. Please don’t waste your Saturday as I did and never go to this pool ever. I will probably get PTSD and need therapy for the godawful experience I had today. As a matter of fact, I would ask people to boycott this place to make sure it can never ruin a customer’s day...
Read moreI needed to get a better tan, so off to a water park I went! My significant other and I stopped at this place to see what they had to offer. Parking was free here! Daily Admission Before 5:00 PM for an Adult was $17 each. We got there at 12:49pm, so I paid 34.00 total for both of us.
The restroom was clean, but it was rather small. We were able to get our hand stamped to leave and come back, so that was nice.
We were able to find chairs luckily. It was nice to lay in the chair to soak in the heat before hitting the water.
We started off at Hurricane Cove, which was a zero-depth entry leisure pool. It was decent to swim in for a little bit, but not too long since it was crowded.
After that, we went to SplashDown. I never did a dive before, so I wanted to try it here. I started with the low dive. It gave me adrenaline and I did the high dive after. This was, of course, a lot higher, which sparked my adrenaline even more. These Diving Boards were both interesting and fun to try. I tried the orange drop slide they had next to those. To be honest, I enjoyed that more than the dives.
Last to try for us was the slides. We rode Sidewinder first. Sidewinder was the red body slide. It was curvy and pretty slow. It was still an interesting and fun slide to start with. After that, we rode Pipeline. This was the yellow enclosed speed slide. It was also a body slide. It did have a bit of speed, but ended quickly. I didn’t care too much for this one. We finished off with Wipeout. This was my favorite slide of the day. Wipeout was a bowl slide. It started off in an enclosed slide that plummeted into a bowl, which eventually dropped into 8 feet of water. The thrill factor on this one was pretty solid!
The customer service was alright. I didn’t have an issue during my visit.
Overall, this water park was worth the stop for a bit. It was a little crowded and compact, but not too bad of a water park for the price. I wouldn’t say it’s worth another visit, though.

Read moreI brought my nephews their mom and their sister here on Sunday June 26 2022 around 2 pm. I didn't go in the water park but stayed outside. I decided to walk around the gates park to see where they were gonna be but also to check out the water park's layout and attractions since it was the first time I was here. After going around about halfway some young girls approached me (they were inside the water park) and one of them asked me what I was doing. I told her that I was looking around at the park. Then she told me that "the girls were uncomfortable" so I told them "that's on them" I think she thought that I was looking at them which of course I wasn't. It was until I told them I had family there in the water park and that I was deciding on wether to go in the park, that she retracted herself and started running towards her party but not before telling me that she didn't wanted me to go close to her even though there was a fence in between and I couldn't hear her right... What in the hell is wrong with people that just because a man is alone walking people assume he's doing something wrong! I was about to tell her "well I'm uncomfortable with you talking to me and thinking I'm doing something wrong" you cannot go around harassing men just because you think something is wrong! Also just because you are a girl or woman doesn't mean all men are just staring at you. This is getting out of control. Ahh but if it would've been the other way around were a woman was walking around the park NOBODY would've said ANYTHING!! newsflash people it's not a crime to be a man let alone be man walking alone on the park. We men also have rights, the right to no be harassed. Women's right do not superseded...
