I appreciated the fact that the lady was nice and agreed to do the alterations in one day.

However, initially she said she wouldn’t know the price for alterations until she sees the fabric and the outfit. My outfit was completely transparent and needed lining.

After she saw the outfit and I went and bought the fabric from Joannes she said it would be $50 for the lining. She said that was doable.

When I went to go pick it up in the morning the next day, she said she had to piece different stuff together and price increased. Basically white fabric sleeves with yellow shirt for lining bc there wasn’t enough fabric. Something I didn’t like at all. I could have just worn a white shirt underneath if I wanted white sleeves under a yellow outfit 🤦‍♀️

So she charged me $125 total. I wish I was informed of this price change, the fact that the fabric would be too short, and wished she asked if it would be okay with me with the mismatch lining and the price change. Instead I was handed a bill that was $75 higher than the initial quote I was given. A total of $125.

I would recommend making sure to have clear communication regarding alterations which I wish I had done instead of trusting someone. I’m definitely at fault as well. I just didn’t expect this...

I hate dress shopping and dressing up and I'm especially fearful of boutiques but I was invited to a formal wedding. I also dislike buying new so I decided to give ThomKat a try. I brought my daughter for moral support. I was blown away, the lady that helped us was AMAZING! Very sweet, upbeat and SUPER helpful and accommodating. I can't recommend this place enough. The selection was great, I had a hard time choosing between two and even my daughter found a dress (even though she really didn't need one). If I ever need to dress up again I will be back. Such a wonderful shop, with an amazing shopkeeper. So friendly and helpful. We were looking for a prom dress that is vintage 90's or with a 90's vibe. My daughter tried on so many amazing dresses, and had an amazing time, she felt comfortable and relaxed because of the amazing atmosphere. We will always come here first for all of our formal wear needs. We found two great dresses, more really, but settled on two, one she can wear next year to another dance.
