While replacing the screen on a Lenovo L530, a connector lifted off the WiFi card during removal. No biggie, there's plenty online but I decided to call Alltech to see if they had something in stock, since they were down the street and it'd save shipping time.
On the first call, despite offering to give them the model name and part number of the WiFi card, they say they don't need it and to come in. Sure, I get it, they want to confirm it in-person.
There, Camille gives me an Acer card, mentioning it should be fine. I brought the original card in so it could be matched, but was told it would work.
Come to find out after installing it at home, that Lenovo has a white list of approved cards and won't boot up with third-party chips -- you'd think a computer repair store would know this, Lenovos are standard for business machines, but it's goofy and I get it.
Second trip to the store, he brings me a different Intel WiFi card -- on the right track -- and he says it'll be fine.
Turns out, nope -- No one at Alltech actually confirmed if this card worked with the L530. I call back, they promise to call me back with whether or not they can find one, and the business day ends with no solution. When I told them the model name, they were like "Ohhhhh, you have a Centrino.." I guess Camille didn't read the model name on the original WiFi card I brought him earlier in the day..?
I'm back the next day, my third trip, having not heard back from either of them. I'm over it, this is why I usually buy things online, because I know what I'm ordering will work because I've done

I googled a place and found this place.
I got a lenovo laptop, for a really good price. Camille upgraded it from 8 GB to 12 GB for no additional cost. I picked it up a few hours later. Everything was fine except for a bluetooth driver, that I went back a few days later, while picking up issues for 2 and 3 and got it fixed when Chris reinstalled by bluetooth drivers.
Macbook. My macbook was damaged end of the year last year. I needed some files out of there. Camille took out the harddrive and we saw the damage that was inflicted from the macbook being on the road for over a year.
I had a hardware issue where Camille had to reconnect some power start up hardware, etc.
I talked to the store about what people usually bring in. They have a small row of antique computers. With cool stories behind them. My old MacBook Pro is there now, or possibly scrapped for parts, but that laptop's probably been to more countries than you have.
Thank you for reading! It's been a while Google. I'll be better. I'm sorry I missed all the Google Local...
