The Venue: 4/5 - OUTDOOR WEDDING APPARENTLY MAY HAVE A TENT, EVEN IF THERE IS NO TENT WHEN YOU TOUR AND BOOK, EVEN IF THEY HAVE PICS OF WEDDINGS WITH NO TENT. The Food: 5/5 The staff + overall callous nature of staff: -100/5 (Chris my bridal attendant was great but could not make up for everyone)
We toured the Primavera in Oct. '22, we were immediately in love with the open garden and the reception space. It felt capable of delivering the intimate romantic dinner we wanted to start our reception with. We paid our deposit within 24 hours, and we were off to the races. People RAVED about the food and this put us at ease a bit as there was no food or cake tasting so we went in blind. We were pleased with the large selection offered and dinner options. The food here is THE SELLING POINT.
As we got closer to our date, we reached out to confirm the times our vendors could arrive, and we were told they could arrive an hour before the ceremony as was standard. I absolutely freaked out because I knew that wasn’t nearly enough time nor was it what we were told at tour. This was later clarified that if there was an event our arrival, photos, and set up could not interfere with the same. After this minor heart attack, we did our venue walkthrough and final items lists.
At drop off we walked the garden area to get a feel for the day and there was a tent with lights up. We thought someone had a wedding the day prior and wanted a tent. On our wedding day the best man comes into the bridal suite and tells me not to get upset but there is a tent up. I was furious and asked to speak to Michael. He arrives in the bridal suite and tells me the tent has been up all summer, I saw it at drop off, and the tent cannot be taken down. This is misrepresentation. There are several pictures of weddings occurring at the Primavera with no tent and when we booked there was no tent. To tell someone $20K+ later the tent has been up all summer is a joke. We booked based on what we were shown, we do not work at the Primavera and the concept that we should have known a tent was put up and was remaining up for ALL outdoor weddings was nonsense. Michael's response to things were well “The Primavera did this” or “that’s how it’s done at the Primavera”. It feels like we were told everything we wanted to hear to book the venue and as the day approached our options were take it or leave it. I could have booked another venue and had the true outdoor wedding I wanted with no tent.
Drop off included a binder with clear set up instructions and confirmed how things would be laid out in the foyer. Michael confirmed the seating chart would be put on an easel and our welcome sign placement. Before the ceremony my bridesmaids checked that my requests were met. When they advised staff that I did not want the seating chart on the welcome table with the puzzle guest book, Primavera staff advised “It looks better here”. Several guests told us entering the venue was like entering a club with a line out the door because people were looking at the seating chart and signing puzzle pieces creating a backup. They could have put the chart on the piano with the card box but they disregarded my request. Hosting weddings every weekend it should have been clear this would not work. We booked for 150 guest and had less than 120, yet before everyone made it through the bottle neck entry the Champagne Welcome was out of champagne and guests were told to go to the bar.
My 34 year old bridesmaid was not served because she looks incredibly young and had no ID. I understood and was fine with this. Apparently my 17 year old brother was served repeatedly and never carded. Imagine how much I heard about that from family the day after my wedding.
For all the plans and instructions discussed, printed and provided this was such a frustrating day and overall experience. I was upset to the point of tears 5 minutes before our first look on the happiest day of my life. To be treated like you don't know what you're asking for when it was previously agreed is not the experience I...
Read moreHeld my reception here on November 13th, 2015, having never attended a reception here before. We had met with Michael, the General Manager, a year prior to tour the facility and see if it was where we wanted to have the reception. First impression was that it was spotlessly clean, not a speck of dust or cobweb in sight!!! The location itself was ideal because it was a 7 minute drive from the chapel in Warren. Meeting Michael was a pleasure and he assured us that they would be on top of everything and for us not to worry...and they were!! They always responded to our questions and concerns immediately and were so kind and accommodating. When you're planning a wedding by yourself and you're not sure which way is up, it is so nice to have people in your corner who are trust-worthy and focused on making your day everything you dream of. Michael and the crew at Primavera did that, and I'm so grateful. They hosted a 'tasting' in January of 2015 so that those couples who are having their event can try the food, dessert, and get a feel for the ambience. The food is amazing!!! Many people that had been to weddings here before told us that and they were so right! The actual reception had so much food, and it was all delicious (the food counts a lot in NJ). We had a suckling pig that was to die for as one of our carving stations but really, everything was amazing. Usually the dinner portion at receptions I've been to isn't as good as the cocktail hour but the dinner was amazing and there were 4 different choices and they were accommodating to all of the dietary requests for certain guests. The staff was so amazing!!! As great as the food and drinks were, and as clean was the place was (and it was CLEAN!!!) the staff really made the whole experience that more special because they were so kind and polite and helpful. Our Maitre'D was Ahmed and he was so awesome, he met us at the bridal suite when the limo arrived to the reception, brought me and my bridesmaids champagne as the first order of business, then made sure we had extra bobby pins and things in case, he made sure the groom and I had access to the photo booth first, and then for the cocktail hour, he made sure we got to try every single hors d'oeuvre, a sample from every chafing dish, every appetizer that was laid out and made sure that they were brought to our special table so we weren't waiting with the rest of the guests (it was our day, after all). He made sure that we knew the order of events, ran guest interference so we could eat in peace but also made sure we were able to visit with every guest. Ahmed and Michael and the staff truly went above and beyond and because of that, I got to enjoy every second of my reception, and I'll remember it forever. Cheers to you, Primavera Regency, for making my day so amazing. I hope other brides and grooms have the...
Read moreOn your wedding day there is nothing more you could want than a venue that fulfills your every request, makes you feel like royalty and ensures that you are having the time of your life. Primavera did all of this and more for myself and my husband on our big day. Right off the bat Michael made us feel like the only couple he was working with, which is far from true. Whatever it was that we wanted, Primavera found a way to make it happen. Not only that, but Michael guided us to ensure that we were making the right choices to aide our day in being the best it possibly could be. There is something incredibly special about having a venue that wants the best for you and goes to whatever lengths to ensure that it happens. We went through 3 wedding dates due to COVID and despite the disappointment, there was no headache on the end of Primavera. Michael was quick to respond to us with new dates, honored our pricing for our contract and comforted us through this process. I can not relate to the brides that say they do not get to eat on their wedding day, because Primavera ensured that we got every single dish at our cocktail hour, a taste of each dinner option and drinks whenever ours was empty. The more incredible thing was I did not have to ask for one thing, whatever we needed it was there. Primavera truly anticipated anything we could want/need that day and I can not name one thing that I wanted for on our wedding day. The food at Primavera is beyond incredible, our guests are still talking about it, no one left hungry, and people were requesting take home boxes. The services is unbeatable, your guests will not need for one thing at this venue and it is yet another thing our guests are still talking about at our wedding day. There is a reason the staff at this venue have been working there for 20+ years, they are a family centered business that takes care of their employees and customers. When you go with Primavera you truly become part of a family, thank you for truly making this day the most incredible night of our lives. We love you guys and would recommend anyone who is considering this venue, GO WITH IT! There is nothing you will be...
