We joined the Goddard family for the first time with our son in the infant room. As a first time, full time working mom to say my standards were high were an understatement.
My husband and I interviewed three other daycares and two other local goddard schools. None of which seemed to truly meet all of our requests and standards. After learning about Goddard’s “steam” education standards and high expectations of their staff, we knew we needed to find the right goddard for our family.
Luckily Sumara and Imran owners of the goddard school were in the process of opening their own goddard school after their own amazing experiences. Sumara and Imran are genuine, caring, focused and driven to achieve the absolute best for their families and children. Their care shows in every detail of their school- from their landscaping to their teachers they have hired- they have worked tirelessly on every single detail to be perfect!
Everyday is an absolute joy for my 10 month old. I was worried that going back to work would leave him sad or feeling confused. After one day with his teachers, Ms. Katie and Ms. Shannon I knew he was in the best hands!
Katie is sweet, and wise and mature much beyond her years. She is a natural caretaker and pays attention to details of scheduling, foods, naps- you name it and she can do it. Her knowledge of young children and her enthusiasm often leave me awed especially when she provides thoughtful suggestions and recommendations for our baby’s care. I have never felt safer and happier than when I know my baby is in her care.
Ms. Shannon is so full of love for all of her kids in the infant room and brings experienced hands to everything she does. She is generous and loving and encourages all the children to learn and play! Ms. Shannon is our expert nap giver!! She has the magic touch and continues to wow me.
I am so grateful to all of the amazing staff at Goddard school and am so grateful we have the opportunity for our baby to begin his education and care...
Read moreTomorrow will be such a bitter sweet day. My little girl’s last day of Preschool. Feels like just yesterday I was leaving my precious girl in the hands of strangers; four and a half years later she’s off to Kindergarten. These “strangers” have become our mentors, our saving grace, our lifeline. They have become a part of our family. I can’t thank the The Goddard School team enough.
Sumara, Imran, we appreciate you. We thank you for being a part of Valentina’s most crucial years of growing and learning. From the moment we made the decision to enroll Valentina in your school we knew that we were not only just a number; we were lifelong friends. The love and dedication you both have to your school is second to none and it will always be recognized.
Mrs Lourdes, Mrs Kim, even though we’ve only known each other for a short time it feels like a lifetime. Thank you for our countless talks, countless advice, and the care you have given to Valentina. You are truly the backbone of the school.
To all the teachers at your school, thank you times 1 million. They were there through it all. From all the special events, dress up days, science experiments, outside play, sports; they were there. Most of all, they were there through the laughs, the tears and all of the in between. We are forever grateful for not only pushing Valentina to be a good student, but first, a great person. As a working mom, that never has a stop bottom, it was important to find a team that was going to be there for my daughter when I couldn’t be. To introduce new foods, teach her letters and numbers, math and science, the meaning of holidays and most of all the meaning of true friendship. How to be kind to others, how to share, to have manner, and when to stand up for yourself and others. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience during these 4.5 years. Goddard you will truly...
Read moreMy oldest has been attending Goddard of Longhill since she was 15 months old and is now 5. My youngest has been there since he was an infant and is now almost 2.5. Both kids love it there and we do too!
Pros: -Great teachers who have a lot of experience, most if not all lead teachers have coursework in child development -Responsive office staff & owners who know everyone -Sense of community among families -Follow rules closely -Clean facility -The kids do so many activities a day -Curriculum is rigorous but fun and my kids have learned a lot. My oldest is overly prepared for K. -App to see notes & pictures -Extracurricular activities like dance, gymnastics, soccer, etc. included as part of their day for no additional fee -A lot of family engagement activities -highly organized -Flexible in allowing outside therapists to come work with students when needed -1 hour of outside time a day, weather dependent -Very communicative on how students are doing. Conferences and evals 2x a year
Cons: -Expensive -Class sizes are on the bigger side, especially for the older kids but they always have at least 2 teachers in these classes -2 hour nap for older kids (4&5) is way too long. Although they don't have to sleep they have to be quiet on their cots during this entire 2hrs which is simply too long for this age group.
Overall our experience has been wonderful and the pros far outweigh the cons for us. I am very happy with our choice to have my kids spend their days here.
We have loved all of their teachers but have a special place in our heart for Ms. Meliedy, Ms. Connie, Ms. Haleemah, Ms. Erica, Ms. Sierra, and Ms. Celine who have always gone above and beyond...
