Mile Long Pier — Attraction in Lorain

Visited the Mile Long Pier on a cool Memorial Day Monday. We just wanted to go for a visit and a quick walk. Before we started, my wife and I sat of a colorful swing to enjoy the cool breeze and soak up some Vitamin D the sun was blessing us with.

We leisurely strolled along the pier taking note of the neat & orderly appearance. The pier chocked with folks enjoying the early afternoon with fishing. It was nice to see the clever names of some of the docked boats.

Once we reached the far end, we did ubiquitous selfie then, started back towards parking lot area but not before sitting in a colorful swing. Also, surprisingly there are ‘love locks’ placed on portions of the fence. My likes to swing, plus, I had to rest/stretch my back.

The Mile Long Pier is a great place to get your steps in, maybe jog and definitely do some relaxing fishing if...

This pier runs all along Marina. During the summer it is jam-packed. The walkway is brick. There is another small pier that you can walk out to the middle of the marina. I think it used to be for fishing but with the incline of the rocks I think it's pretty hard to be able to get anything out of the water that you caught. On the other side of a parking lot is a small pond area. I'm not sure if they let you fish there but it's just nice to see. This would be a fantastic place to catch a sunset with the lighthouse in the background. There are swings all along the pier where you can watch the boats coming in. They also offer boat tours and sunset diner lighthouse tours. You cannot walk to the lighthouse...

I can't say it enough I love this place for sunset pics♥️😎Awesome place to come and see the fourth of July fireworks show they do it every year since I can remember ample places to park and the setting doesn't get much better from watching the fireworks from the mile long Piers boardwalk to getting up on a large boulder that are scattered all over the area or sit atop the hillside at an elevated position to take in the whole area overlooking the boardwalk and the marina plus the boardwalk I must say this is an awesome place on the Fourth but also amazing place for taking a stroll or taking sunset pictures it really has a lot enjoy yourself I certainly do all through the year here at mile long pier...
