I have been wanting to try this restaurant since I realized they were there a few weeks ago. We had been to the two previous restaurants and the location is perfect for downtown Lorain. We were not disappointed. We were served warm rolls with butter. Nice touch. We had the empanada appetizer. A small serving for the price but they were tasty. I liked them but my friend did not care for them. More for me! We had the stuffed walleye entree. It was delicious and presentation was spot on. We WILL definitely be back.

The waitress was really nice and accommodated my requests for a Mocktail and changed the bow tie pasta to rigatoni. It’s a cute little quiet, rustic, quaint little restaurant. Very town vibe with a water view.

We had the shrimp scampi and Amish chicken which were very good. Will come again.

Unfortunately very very few people. Also very difficult to get phone number directly to restaurant. Always goes to Hotel Front Desk. At times they are not very good at knowing their responsibilities to make reservations. Clients calling are confused. Best to have direct line as all do for Reservations. More Advertising would be very helpful to let people know you are out there. Once again the phone to get Reservations is a significant problem. Leading to discouraged people trying to get thru. As to much confusion trying to connect with Restaurant. Causing minimal opportunities. Food each and every time has been really GREAT. Now need to try and find way to get much more foot & auto traffic to the Restaurant. North side of Building needs some type of Banner identification of the Anchor!!! This should be on Northside ( Lake) And if you could advertising should be at Route 2 Lorain exit. As many years ago Rt highway did not exist. And main road was Lake road. Rt2 is now the main roadway Cleveland to Sandusky. So your exposure to passing potential customers is very very limited. Good Luck to all. We so hope you can make this...

My family and a friend of ours went there tonight to support our local restaurants. I would like to start this by saying, that our server was wonderful. The "chef" however was less than pleasant. We could hear him yelling at his kitchen staff throughout our meal. Our food, was not as expected. When we spoke to him about the food quality, he blamed our server. When we told him that it wasn't her fault, that the vegetables were raw, The lamb chop was bland and I was expecting them to be seared, and that the apple pie (which was some apple slices served over a biscuit) was dry. He told us that we "didn't read the description". He was extremely rude, talking down to us as if we didn't understand the menu, and used his server as a scapegoat for terrible food. Blaming your servers when you clearly have issues in your own kitchen and refusing to take any responsibility is not the way you run...

I joined my friend and her family for dinner at The Anchor Lorain. We were very excited to try this new local spot. I want to start off by saying that our waitress did a great job. You could tell she was new however she was very polite and helpful. Our experience with this newly opened restaurant was terrible. The food was very bland, undercooked/ overcooked, didn’t have the proper dressings and we could hear the chef yelling at his staff from the back kitchen. When the chef came out to ask how our experience was ( the waitress told him several times that our food was not good) he blamed his waitress and was extremely condescending and rude to us. We definitely understand that you just opened and could be having an off night however the moment the chef spoke to us like we were 5 year old children, all bets are off. We will not be returning ever, unless of course they get...
