BR Party Rental — Attraction in Los Angeles

Thank you others for your reviews! I couldn't remember the name of the terrible, worst HLP event rental company I had worked with in 2021, but upon reading these reviews, I looked in my records, and lo and behold, it was BR Party Rentals!

And yes, these folks are terrible. Terrrrrrrible. I've been an event planner for about 4 years now, and our staff and I STILL talk about how awful these folks were. They were pretty rude from the get-go, but they quoted us an unbeatable price, and I decided that it was worth it. Total newbie mistake. They delivered the items too early, and the venue office staff had to help. I ended up tipping them, since it was not their job, ran me an extra $50 right away. Then, and this was the big issue, when BR came to pick the rentals up (10 min early), we had everything folded up and ready, except (and this was my mistake), I'd forgotten we'd rented a tablecloth for the big central table. I asked for 5 minutes to relocate the stuff on the table (keep in mind, they were early picking up stuff anyhow), and because I wasn't fast enough, they started PULLING THE TABLECLOTH OFF with all the stuff still on it, some of it worth thousands of dollars. I am not exaggerating when I said 5 minutes, because I had rented the venue for the company, and I was very mindful of the time we needed to leave, which was soon. This was in front of the entire party, and because they looked so unprofessional, some people prepared to get physical, thinking these were party-crashers. The worst. Like I said, we all still talk about it. I'm lucky it didn't sink my whole ship.

I've since learned, when renting for events in Highland Park, stick with the stores named after ladies: Ana's, Wendy's, and Lupita's. I mostly need tables and chairs, so I hire Lupita's a lot, and they are superb. Truly great customer service and unbeatable prices. Delivery right to the door, flexible,...

Extremely unprofessional. A ton of the chairs had mold on the bottom and were dirty. One chair was “patched” with bandaids. The guy who dropped off tried to guilt me into letting him pick the tables/chairs up that same day instead of the next day. We paid a $97 overnight fee and he kept saying “you’re sure we can’t pick up tonight? I’d hate to have to come back tomorrow”. I eventually told him I could have them pick up at 7 pm that night but he kept pushing for earlier? Then they never showed up to pick them up that night.

This company is so unprofessional! He doesn’t hire enough employees to pick up the rental the same day so he wants to charge the customer a extra overnight fee to pick up the next day. I offered to rent a uhaul to drop the items off the same day. He refused to let me drop it off the same day. He is all about a money grab and doesn’t know how to conduct business. If you’re not renting from him on the weekend don’t bother renting from here and when he deliver the furniture their going to put the furniture outside your building.
