I go here because I live in the area and my favorite teacher teaches here. I was honestly avoiding the place just because a few years ago I came to read the reviews and the owners immature responses really put me off. After visiting, I feel I must share everytime I take a class here I notice the cleanliness could be better. The past 3 times I've taken a hot yoga class in the front room there has been clumps of hair and dust (like dust bunnies) at the front of the room , which is kinda distracting(and gross) and makes me wonder what else hasn't been cleaned. In my experience most hot yoga studios floors get wiped after every class. But I've never seen that happen in that room before. š¤·āāļø
Edit: After I left this review at the next class I came to, the owner(I'm assuming since he never introduced himself) made a point to rush over as I checked myself in to ask who I was (again without introducing himself) and then look me up in the computer then said "you know we have a comment box for that" pretty rudely I had no idea what he was talking about about since it was right before class and I was getting into my head space. I then said "okay cool could I please rent a mat?" He then put the employee who was working the desk in front of me and said "you help her" then walked away in a huff.... Needless to say I spent my whole class wondering what he was talking about about/ thinking about how he went out of his way to say this to me. Made me feel a little unsafe and very uncomfortable honesty. I also left a comment in the comment box the first day I saw the dust bunnies and I never saw anything happen after that, I know he reads these comments.
This just confirms what I thought about his immature responses in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere is a lot to say about this place. Ive been practicing here for 3 months now. The Yoga teachers are amazing. Each one has something special to contribute Ranging from knowledge, to helping correct forms, spiritual growth, live musical instrumental talent, knowledge of indian yoga god/desses . I have learned so much over these past months and i have never felt more healthier. I've tried for years to get a six pack and i have never felt so close as i do know from just yoga and hiking. If your looking to get in shape this is the place to do it. If your looking for variety in vinyasa this is the place to practice . If you need to meditate the day away and truly liberate yourself this is the place to do it. The staff are always friendly, sweet, and helpful. I go in stressed from work or school and leave in complete serenity. Its a true liberation. Kinship is always clean. They offer yoga mat/towels rentals for $2 dollars and small towels free. The first month unlimited class is $45 then its a $100. But wait if thats not in your price range that is ok they have options you can become a volunteer or do an income based sliding scale which is really helpful especially for low income college students like myself. I definitely recommend this for all levels even if you have never practiced yoga in your life this is the place to do it because here you will get the greatest first experience. This is important because i took yoga in college this semester with a teacher that was not good and made me dread going to class luckily since it was a once a week class i decided to try kinship right before the semester started it it was the best...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe most beautiful community has been created here. All the teachers are amazing and everyone here will greet you with a big smiling face! A luxury, but homey feel, help yourself to complimentary tea and water before your class. You can feel comfortable leaving your things up front or grab a lock from the desk to put in a locker in the locker room. Many different types of classes for all levels - feel comfortable as a beginner or experienced yogi - they are all amazing. They really love the community and put in effort to give back. They offer expanded classes and different events each week - breath work, emotional support circle classes lead by the healing collective, aryuvedic yoga and yoga in concert which has a different musician playing live each week. I miss the community a lot since it has been closed, but have stayed practicing and tune in to the livestream classes because I love the teachers so much! If you're considering joining a studio to continue your practice, this is THE studio to support!
Thank you KINSHIP for providing a safe space for me to grow and...
