I visited for the biannual Art Walk, a two day open house for artists in residence. A mostly adult event, but you will see families during morning and early afternoon. You will find everything from clothing, eco conscious sportswear and jewelry made from car parts, fine jewelry, photography, textiles, paintings, pen and ink drawings, interactive video installations, pottery, printmakers, home decor, candles, greeting cards, metalwork, sculpture, gothic and carnival art, children's books, cut and folded paper...something for just about any style or taste. During this event, you may purchase beer or other alcoholic beverages and sit in the beer garden outside; there are several restaurants inside. There is no public parking at facility lot for this event, but free street parking available in the surrounding neighborhoods. Be prepared to drive a bit to find it. Most items for sale can be bit pricey, but most vendors are willing...

Another Hidden Gem in LA! So much going on here I need more than a day to check everything out!!!! This is the largest artwalk I've been to!

This event is twice a year and the old brewery, which is now a loft, and other lofts/rooms open up to display peoples art work. My favorite one was the SteamPunk (?) room where there were a lot of intuitive interactive games. The "interesting" one is a room full of grotesque mutilated antique dolls.

Not only did I enjoy the art galleries, the lofts were so cool to check out.

TIP: few hours isn't enough to see everything here bring cash for food/drink bring water to stay hydrated while you walk around wear comfy shoes come with an open mind :) show up early so you can find good...

This art walk/explore is a cool concept. The pros: its free, the parking is free, there are many studios to look at The cons: the was only one brewary and it was cash only and was overpriced ($15 for a 12oz solo cup basic michilada). Parking can be tough early but after 1 or 2 pm there are a lot of open spaces. If you aren't super into modern art it can be a bit of an odd experience, especially the art that looks like a blind child created but art is subjective and I guess what matters is the effort. Not handicap accessible- a lot of studios are in upper levels (flights of stairs) but no ramps or elevators.

What an experience! Thankfully they had a map, this place was a labyrinth! So many artists at work showcasing their talents, a variety of mediums: painting, ceramics, sculptures, photography and artisan crafts. Large spaces, small spaces and a lot to take in. Not for those sensitive to sensory overload. The parking was not the best, and I DJ’s not eat there. They had a center hub of food and beer, and the Barbara’s at the Brewery was open but cash only so that was a bit inconvenient especially to tourists and new comers. The art was spectacular. The myriad of things to look at felt endless and there was a little piece of magic at every turn. Truly a wonderful place to wander into!

A one of a kind experience; you have to attend to understand how beautiful it is. There is art for every taste and the gigantic complex is full of beautiful places to hang out, and get food and drink. (More during the Artwalk) There is also a restaurant and climbing gym that you can visit at other times; but don't miss out on the walk. You can see the work of high caliber artists of many different mediums; puppetry, sculpture, paintings, surreal machines, ect... There is also a beer garden with both food and refreshments and many food trucks. One downside is the crowds; but you can't throw a party this great and not have people show up. Highly recommended!!
