Where in the whole west coast of America can you find two beaches at one place?! Also has hot water showers to rinse off in! It has the Cabrillo Beach Aquarium that is free right next door exclamation
And you can park for free along Bluff Place Road! And they have a wooden bridge Boardwalk that goes out to the tidepools! You come during the week day it is like you owned the beach and it is your private beach because no one else is here! And you can walk to the very end which is known as Angels Gate point which is a little tiny lighthouse & Foghorn at the very end of the rock Jetty where the big cruise ships enter and exit & you see the cargo ships come in at high tide. And there is what seems to be a mile long Fishing Pier exclamation point
And there's about 10 fire pits that it is legal and allowed to have open fire pits at night here at Cabrillo Beach! Collect fire wood early! If you come here at night all the public bathrooms close up at sundown but you could find those porta potties over at the Aquarium parking lot area and they close the gates at the beach at 10 p.m. even though the sign says 10:30 but they have security guards that announce and alerts that they are closing the gates. You can't get your car out once they close the gates.
The inner Beach is known as the children's beach cuz there's no waves -that it is very flat and very shallow period but make sure you rinse off and scrub your eyes ears nose and mouth very well and flush out any toxins. This beach is right next to the Port of Los Angeles where all manmade toxins as petroleum and chemicals come out of every vessel and boat that passes by.
The outer Beach is for surfers windsurfers snorkelers scuba divers and polar bear swimmers. It also has what is known as the Cabrillo Beach bathhouse which is rented out for weddings and parties and Surfers have funeral memorials here cuz it is a fun and upbeat place. Also go inside it is open to the public for free and you will see all the museum photographs of what San Pedro looks like from the 1930s up until today.
The Cabrillo Beach bathhouse is where you can find out about becoming a member of the Polar Bear Club also you have the free use these showers to have the hot water showers. The showers that are outside in the sand are cold showers. But inside this locker room and bathroom area at the bathhouse it's all hot water. Feels great when you come out of the cold ocean. They close up these bathroom sometimes as early as 5 p.m. and some weekends they don't even open them it makes no sense.
it is a very clean and manicured Beach. Please be educated and know why the West Coast does not have white sand is because the California waters have the most untapped oil wells in the Ocean than any place on Earth. So the petroleum is constantly coming out into the ocean and that's why you see the black tar on the beach. And the sand granules maybe black just like in Hawaii with the volcanic ash. But we have petroleum...

Boat ocean entry,, parking lot allows rvs, boats, card, etc. open during day time til like 8/9 pm(I'll find out and edit this if needed). There's free parking up on Steward and Grey but limited to like 20 or less cars. Really, Cabrillo is a awesome beach spot for so all. Don't disrespect though, don't liter, don't give lifeguards or police a hard time IF they coming at you right, and be courteous of the families and children around.

Read moreThe beach it’s self is beautiful I been coming to this beach for almost 6 yrs and I’m here just about every weekend. My husband and I love it here this is our relaxing and stress free place to be at. The only thing that I don’t agree with is that yesterday due to the long weekend there was a flat rate of $9.00 dollars for parking which ok it’s fine with me I paid the $9.00 but to my surprise I wasn’t able to go in and out once I was in there. I asked what was the reason for that and no one could answer my question. I had ran out of food and my husband and I decided to go get more and some waters also but we where told that if we went out the parking lot we would have to pay again to get back in. I was pretty upset because I had already paid a flat rate and had my ticket to prove it. So I should have been able to go in and out when ever I wanted but not according to them. So we had no other choice but to leave the beach early since we needed to eat that...
