I definitely would have given this place 5 stats for the following reasons: Our campsite was right on the water close to the pool and restrooms. I loved the location of the site. I thought the main building was very pretty! Parking was nice and easy and close to our site. The two gentlemen working in the Scout shop were so sweet and helpful. It was a breath of fresh air to interact with genuinely nice people who love scouting. The pool was amazing as far as the temperature goes! It was like being in a big bathtub! The ONLY reason I am deducting a star is because of two specific people/employees. Had everything else at this location and/or every other person I came in contact with not been amazing, I would have deducted more because these two people were that bad! So, we were only allotted two hours in the pool because we needed to schedule and pay for lifeguards, no problem. We'll the two that were scheduled were a young girl who's name I did not get and a young man named Chris. These two were the rudes people I think I have ever met in my life. The attitude that these two had and the way they yelled at these young cubscouts was RIDICULOUS! I arrive with only 30 minutes to spend in the pool with my son so I decided to leave it alone but had I been there one minute longer or had they screamed at one more child in the way they did, there would have been a very serious discussion between the two lifeguards and every superior they had there. From the heavy sighs when anyone entered the pool area, to the constant eye rolls, to the over aggressive yelling of kids who are between the ages of 5 and 12ish, to another one of the coworkers telling them to chill out and asking why they were acting the way they were, I couldn't hang much longer around them. They were the worst and the scouts should think twice before using them ever again! Luckily they had the rest of the staff to make the day better because had the other staff not been completely awesome, it would have ruined the whole experince for myself and a few other parents who were outraged in how they were treating everyone in our group.

Love this site for our Girl Scout Camporee. We have been coming for years and only missed during COVID shutdown.

My son completed a merit badge over a period of several weeks and he found the instruction/facilitation to be excellent as well as very organized. The location is beautiful and right next to LA Harbor. The camp director was very helpful and answered questions that both scouts and parents had. The website needs to be improved and programs better publicized, since this camp location and its programs are kind of obscured, In fact, I heard about the merit badge program and other outdoor activities from a friend and not the LA Area Council website,

Great experience and recooked this facility to any Boy Scout (or Girl...
