This is a challenging trail that gets steep in the middle. I had regular running shoes one but hiking shoes will provide better grip. Going up and down can be challenging in the sharp incline areas, so be aware if you have injuries or lack the strength to get through it. Takes some glute and lower leg activation. A nice cardio workout for sure! Took me about 20 minutes or so one way. There is a small wooden bench at the low end of the trail. Grabbed a stick to help me walk and in case of snakes. Watch the trails. Stay on the trail. Use the rocks to step if you have slippery shoes
Was clean when I went. I parked in the neighborhood which many people said they got tickets. There are no signs that say no parking and the curbs aren't painted to denote it either. I didn't get a ticket. Maybe things changed. I don't know.
This was a quiet trail with nice views, but I prefer more company of fellow hikers, so I don't know that I'd return. I like nature but I don't like being alone in...
Read moreI wouldn’t really call this a park, more like a skinny trail. It starts at one end in a hilly neighborhood in Sherman Oaks and the entrance looks like someone’s side yard which is very easy to pass if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for and it is a single file skinny trail straight through to the other side which ends at the top of a cul-de-sac street that kind of seems like someone’s backyard. The view is beautiful and you could see the whole valley from the top. I walked to the trail with my two dogs a little before the sun started going down and there was not a soul around. It was a very easy walk but there wasn’t a spot to really rest or sit down. If you drive a car and park to walk this trail, you’ll have to turn back once you reach the other side and walk the trail again, unless you want to take a long walk around the neighborhood back around to your car...
Read moreWe didn't finish this. It is very steep, I think we got a little bit past half way before turning around. According to my Fitbit it was a 300ft elevation gain hike. Views are nice but you can get similar ones elsewhere. The path is very narrow so I recommend pants or else the dry grass will whip your legs. This hike isn't for people with bad knees or ankles, they really get a work out. We brought the dog and he was happy but basically trying to drag my slowness down the mountain. We parked on the north side of the path and the "entrance" just looks like a path on the side of a...
