Trying to take my cousin everywhere she hasn't tried since the last time she was in LA. Now there's the POKE craze lol. Thanks
We were stuck on the 405 forever and this was the closest off the exit (ventura), had pretty good review and decided this was the best one.
Staff was friendly and welcoming Menu is extremely simple A small was $9 which is 2 types of fish or double, of one.
I tried rice, tuna and salmo, seaweed, avocado, the works for the veggies I recommend ordering the sauces on the side, it's a lot, I wanted to eat it at home, for dinner.
The house sauce and spicy mayo on the side. Drizzle with a bit of black truffle oil and sesame seeds and done!
I do not like how they give you the food in like a cardboard to go box thingy.
If you put the sauce in it the box gets really soggy and soft I understand they want it to seem like its a lot but everything falls out when you try to mix it.
Other than that greeeeat. I hope...
Read moreServings are very filling. It's one of the few poke places I would eat dinner at, because most poke places feel like a light lunch. I got a large 4 scooper for $13.95. Mediums and smalls have 3 scoops of fish and 2, respectively, and are incrementally $2 cheaper. Here, you get an option of white/brown rice, chips, salad, or combination of 2. The fish is good enough, toppings are standard, but unlike a lot of places they also have tamago (they call it sweet egg) and their fried onions are actually onion tempura. Their fried garlic are actually full slivers of garlic. This place also serves cooked food, which is great if you're bringing someone that doesn't do raw fish. They have bulgogi (Korean marinated beef), spicy pork, chicken, unagi, and pan fried garlic butter shrimp. We ordered the bulgogi, and it was good. Obviously we had to wait a few minutes but nothing too long. Overall a...
Read moreI am so glad that Poke places are starting to pop up now. After trying Poke in Hawaii a few years ago, I love eating Poke. It's been hard finding a place to get Poke in LA but now it's getting a lot easier with places like 8oz Poke starting to pop up.
They have 3 sizes (small, medium, large) to choose from. Depending on the size, you get to choose from 3 to 4 different fish for your order along with the different toppings. The medium size will really fill you up and large size is big enough to share with 2 people. Their fish is really fresh and the portion is just right.
The menu is a little confusing. It is sort out of order and the servers will tell you that. The servers will ask for your choices when you order so dont pay any attention to the menu as it can be confusing.
Overall, this is a great place to eat Poke. Is it the best place to eat Poke? Probably not. I have eaten...
