Hi, I play tennis here weekly all year-round. Just wanted to update everyone that the tennis court lights all work at night now. They're automatic and come on about 5ish. It's true they were down from about August 2021 - December 2021. But the Parks Dept finally fixed them during the holidays. Yayyy. Be aware that these courts aren't free. The city charges $12 / hour and you gotta reserve and pay for them in advance. You can do that online at laparks.org. There's a reservation booth on-site but you can't reserve a court through them. They won't take cash or cards. It's a pain, I know, but they started this system during the first Covid shutdown. Also, courts are super busy on weeknights from 7 to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday mornings. You can take lessons and / or join a liveball group here. The coaches are great and teach all levels. I've taken many lessons here. Hope...
Read moreThis is a well-run tennis center centrally located in Los Feliz. There are 12 tennis courts, including a stadium court. The courts are not free. Booking in advance is advised. The courts are maintained and free of trash, litter and cement cracks. The courts are very close to public transportation stops. Parking is available and free. There is a playground area for the kids, cookout stations for picnics. Also a soccer field. Loads to enjoy here. My one, well two, complaint(s) are the tennis shop doesn't sell tennis balls and the restrooms can be hit or miss with cleanliness. But I play here regularly and would definitely...
Read moreIt is a beautiful park, but the tennis courts are basically a scam on their hours. We got to the tennis courts around 7:15pm and were planning a couple of rounds on the courts since it was pretty empty. We kept expecting the lights to turn on, but NONE OF THEM DID. We tried using our lights but it barely helped. We had to call it quits since they apparently cant turn on the lights for the courts but the parking lot lights were quickly turned on. Very absurd experience to have at such a park. Especially since its the Griffith park tennis courts. I...
