The review I read before deciding to share my experience was 'sterling' compared to my very recent, very unprofessional, very disturbing experience. Was greeted by a surly, older, cantankerous gentleman who has the personality of a cold fish. Had I not been so tired and the location so convenient for my needs I would have run out the door within the first thirty seconds but I didn't. I should have looked at the room first which was a huge mistake. I should have gone with my gut instinct which was to say "I'm not feeling comfortable here in the lobby and would rather have sharp needles stuck in my eyes than deal with you" instead paying 90 dollars to stay in a 'less than sanitary', sub standard room.
I must agree with the previous review that the place looks and smells like a 'hooker motel' that rents by the hour and guess what? I found out a few days later from the locals that it does rent by the hour. I have never stayed in a place of that nature. My room was dirty with a stained toilet and seat, a dirty bathroom floor, a disposable razor on the floor of my shower, one bed very unkempt and poorly made, two chairs that had either been slashed by Freddy Kreuger or hadnt been updated in a decade or three. There was also garbage under the beds and after going to the office and politely explaining the situation an older gentleman accompanied me back to the room and basically argued about each point. For example "what's a couple of cigarette boxes and garbage under the bed, what the problem you don't sleep under the bed?" A direct quote from this gentleman. I went out and bought some cleaning supplies rather than continue in a confrontational situation assuming that any good business person would reimburse me for a few rolls of paper towels and clorox and ajax etc and refused. I requested information about telephone service from a night manager who was most pleasant but got the silliest answers. A friend was supposed to call me at the hotel. I gave him my room number awaiting his call. It never came. Later I found out he called several times but front desk would not put call through protecting the privacy of the guest. The desk had my name, had me registered as a guest paid in full and yet when someone called they were refused. When I questioned this young gentleman he said 'read what you signed we dont put calls through to you unless you say to us to give me my phone calls'. Has anyone ever ever heard of such nonsense. I requested to speak with management and got mixed messages for several days. One day I was even told he didn't work there, another time i was told he would call me the next day, the day came and went and i was told he only works part time and makes calls on Mondays. As time went on I made myself physically ill over this unpleasant situation. I have traveled a great deal and stayed in the best and the rest but never the worst until now. This was a horrible experience and I only hope I can spare one individual their time and money by sharing my hellish 19 hours experience with...
ย ย ย Read moreI currently reside in Glendale. My apartment building had termites and I had to be out for a few days, due to them placing a tent on my building, to discharge chemicals! Darn critters!
After shopping around in Glendale, the rates there are a bit expensive! considering I have to come out of the pockets, for room and board. The management company will reimburse me but we all know how long that would take, therefore I needed cost effective options!
I had found Los Feliz Hotel on Yelp. I've called, and their rates are reasonable. The staff there had excellent customer service skills. It only get better, there are a number of bars, restaurants and cafe's in the immediate area! Did I also mention Griffith Park is down the street? HOLLA!!
The place is well kept and maintained. Parking is available, but space is limited. There's plenty of street parking thou. I was totally pleased! My only complaint is, I can't seem to find any yoga places on Los Feliz! The nearest place would be, a 5 minute drive (if that)...
