El Buen Gusto Restaurant — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Firstly, I haven't dined in here so I can't say what the food is like... this is review is more to give a note to the managers of the restaurant so they can improve on their service. I delivery drive for uber eats and doordash and last night I happen to receive a pick up order for this restaurant.

To make a long story short and get right to the point, I waited 30 minutes for the order and still nothing when the order was placed 30 or more minutes prior to arriving. But the waiting was not what frustrated me. It was the lack of communication the waiters give to me. I would ask for how long the wait time is and they would give me blank stares, go to the kitchen and never communicate to me again. I was ignored.

I kept asking and they all did the same thing, blank stares and no response. I understand if there's trouble in the kitchen or if they're overwhelmed with orders, I just needed them to be honest and tell me its going to take an hour or so... I would have transfered the order to the next person. We deserve the right to know. Sure I may only be delivering, but if I was a customer, I would love to know the truth and I'll decide from there if I want keep the order or not. Communication is important

Worst experience ever! I regret ever celebrating such an important milestone in my mother's life.saturday 10/1/16 6:pm 😣 I brought my family there to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, the pupusas were ok the curtido was not enough for So many orders the tomato chile sauce was watered down The shrimp plate; we had to return the shrimp They were undercooked..... 20 minutes later I had to remind the waiter to bring us the shrimp back in when he did the shrimp we're burnt! Black !!! And to top it of that cashier was so incredibly rude, saying to us that if we didn't like it was our problem because we ordered brute shrimp in what world would anybody order burned shrimp!! We felt so sorry for the waiters there because right in front of us and a line of people waiting to pay she told him off and make him feel like crap totally belittling the man. telling him it was his fault. And then she turned to us and said either way you still have to pay for it we were like thats fine will pay for it. I just felt it wasn't fair to be charge for something we didn't even eat , so we ordered something else instead. I was so sorry to have chosen el buen gusto in Glendale On brand to celebrate my mothers birthday. Next time I'll check for ratings on Yelp! I wouldn't use one star to rate this place much less...

Hubby and I tried this place out for Sunday brunch this past weekend. It was definitely packed and there was a bit of a wait (which, tbh, I always consider a good sign). Once seated, the menu had lots of food options at super reasonable prices. Hubby ordered a large breakfast plate with carne asada, and I decided to be a little "extra" and get a bunch of a la carte items: pupusas, tamale, rice, and guac :)

Service was a bit slow.....i started to get a little hangry towards the end but I think they were making items fresh?! Once the food arrived, everything tasted great! The pupusas and chicken tamale had great flavor and their guacamole was so fresh! My only minor gripe was that everything was sooo greasy...my plate was soaked in oil. It made everything sit even heavier than usual. But, like I said, minor gripe :) I'd still come...
