Joker Party Supply Inc — Attraction in Los Angeles

I love Joker and the people that work there, it is another one of LA's well kept secrets (a hidden gem located on east Olympic as you are entering DTLA however not in the heart of DTLA) I get excited when I have to go to Joker Party Supply and I love to take people there that are in need of reasonable party supplies. NO ONE sales as many different types of balloons helium tanks and refills as Joker. They have more inventory than other party supply stores. There prices are lower than the rest. Theme Parties, they have got you covered, they are licensed to carry Disney products as well as many other cartoon characters. Party supplies: paper and plastic, tablecloths by the dozen or single, 6 inch, 8 inch, 9 inch and 10 inch colored plastic plates, theme plates and napkins, cups, fork, knives and spoons. Joker carries a huge supply of pinatas (don't see what you are looking for, just ask one of their friendly, helpful salesperson) They offer some rentals, have balloon decorating classes in the rear of the store. If you are a business they offer 10 to 15 per cent discount (you must have a sellers permit or business card) They are easily seen from the main street, just look for the gigantic colorful Joker on the top of the store. Joker is the type of store that carry a lot of extras from time to time you have to go there to see what is new. Joker is extremely crowded on the weekends, I would suggest going during the early part of the week. They have a free parking lot in front of the store and there is some parking in the rear as well as street parking. They accept all major credit cards, have a restroom (WHEN IT IS...

I buy all mu supplies for my event in this place and the price is great since i have a business. The only reasons am giving the a 2 start is because i pay to have my helium tank refill and the guy din't fill it up. I was only able to fill up 5 jumbo balloon, and unfortunately i was not able to go on time to complain and i when a week later, and the employees told me that they cant do nothing about it. I will keep buying there but next time i will check it before leaving the store.

Am changing my review this time because the same story happen last Saturday. I took my helium tank to get it refill and they charge me and never refill it. I came back on Monday and an employee was kind enough to refill it and apologies for the mistake. And when i told him it was the second time that happen and that last time they didn’t refill it because i came a week late. He told me that it was not an excuse and they had to refill it. Saw this place on TikTok I had one of the worst retail experiences at Joker’s Party Supplies and felt completely disregarded as a customer. The wait time was beyond unreasonable – I stood in line for an hour and a half, and the line wrapped around the store!

Why? Because the staff prioritized processing a massive bulk order for one customer, dedicating almost every cashier to that single transaction. Only one register was left to handle the rest of us—at least 50 customers or more—and even then, the service was painfully slow, with zero urgency or regard for our time. It felt like if you’re not spending thousands, you’re invisible to them.

This place isn’t some great money-saving gem either. Any savings are completely negated by the wasted time and frustration. For me, time is money, and I lost 90 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. That’s not a deal, that’s a disaster.

Just my opinion and personal experience, but I’ll be steering clear from here on out....
